How many fishing poles do you take with you. Is it hard to reach behind you when sitting in the seat.
@hookcraft_fishing3 күн бұрын
Usually I have 3. Sometimes more just depending on what I’m doing. And no, it’s pretty easy to reach around and grab them. The seat is pretty spacious in my opinion so it makes spinning around easy.

What time of year are you getting on the tuna bite? I will be in the Orange Beach Gulf shores area for vacation in late May and early June...would love to hook up with one of those torpedoes!
@hookcraft_fishing20 күн бұрын
Usually the fall and early spring are the best with a few opportunities throughout the winter. May and June might be a little late, but I have seen one get caught in May. It’s just very unlikely. 😬
@hunter-c673919 күн бұрын
@hookcraft_fishing So what do you target most in May and June?

Does a skirt rigged ballyhoo work as well as the lures?
@hookcraft_fishing20 күн бұрын
That’ll get crushed! We use lures for the short window. They’ll only bite for a couple hours so there’s no time to deal with bait. But if you have them pre rigged, I think they’ll obliterate it.

@@hookcraft_fishing still better than buying a new rod, no?
@hookcraft_fishingАй бұрын
@ Depends on the rod in my opinion. For a stealth sniper that is $180 and shipping there and back is close to $120 ($60 both ways) then I rather just save the time and get a new rod. Their $400 carbon fiber rod they have now…yeah that would be worth it. Unless they have changed their shipping policies now, but when I spoke to them, that was the deal.

@@hookcraft_fishing I was thinking the same, reel will be here later this week, so I'll get the rod around that time, I don't own a Penn 2500 so I don't have a feel for the size, so when I get it in I'll decide between the 5-10 and the 6-12 should be a sick combo

@hookcraft_fishingАй бұрын
Yep absolutely. They’re expensive but for a good reason. The carbon fiber wrap pretty much makes them indestructible and I have experienced this first hand. Now I have 3. lol

@@hookcraft_fishing I personally have a bull bay stealth sniper 8-17. How dose it compare to that rod? Do you like yours?
@hookcraft_fishingАй бұрын
@ I like my Teramars better. They are significantly lighter than Bull Bay. I’ve also had stuff on my bull bays break but that may just be my experience. Others swear by Bull bay but I rather the Teramars.

My 14 year old son is asking for an inshore setup and was wondering if the setup you are using would be good? We will be fishing the same areas as you especially when we get our kayaks. Looking at Daiwa Saltist MQ 3000 with a 7'6" medium heavy fast action Bull Bay Stealth Sniper or should we get a stradic? We already have a bunch of spinfishers from 3500 and up and BG 2500s. Just wanting something he can call his for inshore. Thank you.
@hookcraft_fishingАй бұрын
The Saltist MQ and Stradic are great options! Can’t really say one is better than the other except the Saltist has more drag for its compact size. But that’s also why it’s $100 more. lol I love my Stradics too so you can’t go wrong with either one. Bull bay rods however, my opinion has changed. They’re ok, but I think there are better options for the money. There are die hard Bull Bay fans though that have had better experiences than me. Two of mine have broken over dumb stuff. I like Shimano Teramars personally. You can find them in all price ranges and they’re reliable.
