Is that girl who was sitting beside you in the car your roommate? What type of doctor do you want to be once you graduate from Medical School?

No, just a friend from placement I'm driving. Hoping to work in the Emergency Department and potentially cross train in ICU but only time will tell

Nursing student here (hoping to graduate in May if preceptorship goes well next semester) Just wanted to say that it's soooo encouraging to witness your journey as a medical student. You got back up and continued, go you!!! I admire and respect what you medical students do. I'm wishing you the very best~

Thank you so much! I think getting back up was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do and I don't fully think i have conveyed how much I went through to get back to this point. But it was all worth it because I am having the best time in 3rd year so far!

Always a good idea to have a friend or family member there with you when u check ur results - whether u fail or pass, the emotional support really helps

Emily, you are getting a lot of snow where you are in England. I did not think that England got so much snow. I live in Ottawa, Canada and it has been nice this month. I did not get snow yet.

Currently in nursing school, last semester. From what I hear from my friends in med school, nursing DOES NOT COMPARE. In med school you are given so much info to learn with so little time to study, its almost as med school is designed to make you fail. But please, don't give up! MDs in this comment section have their comeback stories, and you're in the middle of it. It's already admirable that YOU'RE IN MED SCHOOL! You have people rooting for you. One day I WILL be a nurse for one of YOUR patients in the future! It's gonna happen, don't give up !!

Sometimes, you have to fail and hit close to rock bottom to pick yourself up.coming out of high school I did really well in college. I started to fail classes because I had no idea what I wanted to do in life. I took 10 years off and worked some crappy jobs, living pay check to pay check. I finally had enough and suffered through school while working full-time. IT SUCKED, but I finished nursing school, and it was so worth it.

Would u say year 3 is as fun as year 1 and 2? Given that you don’t really see your friends?
@EmilyMedStudent
@EmilyMedStudent 3 ай бұрын
Year 3 is amazing! I may not see the friends on my course as much outside of studying but I do make time to see me closest friends on an evening when I can and after work on the weekends. It is all about balance to be honest and I push quite hard because I am very worried about failing but this year is definitly more freedom to make more time for friends.

Both are pretty traumatic icl. But I have had so many people reach out in person and online to talk to me about the experience and how it felt so much better to know they aren’t alone. Especially because I felt so alone when it happened to me. Thank you though and I will probably private in a few years 🙏

In the 1st and 2nd year of my medical studies I failed in nearly EVERY exam. But this made me even better because I was rethinking my learning strategies and in the end I nailed it. This is now more than 10 years ago, actually I’m working as a paediatrician. When you fail you can even learn from it. Improve and develop your learning techniques and get better. And, by the way, a good horse never jumps higher than it has to… 😅 Good luck!

I remember being told you will fail in order to succeed. I had to learn it the hard way and eventually reach my goal. I has so many set backs but i couldn't imagine the person i am today compared the first year i started university. I was shy, non talkative and a huge introvert. Now im the opposite starting my physio job next week. 😮😮😮 Life is a rollercoaster as long you stay in the ride till you reach your destination. Never give up.
