This ia a serious waste of mastic! First disolve 10gr mastic in 35gr pure alcohol (>90degrees), then put it in any water alcohol herbs mixture. No need to filter !!! So it rests undissolved only 15% as tasty heavy gum that dissolves easily in olive oil and eaten in a few doses too. Any natural gum or resin is cleaned easily with olive oil (and then soap). Applies for colophon for retsina too.

I cannot have sugar nor alcohol, will the water extraction benefit my body?! Sorry for the many questions! Two hours after I made this yummy receipe, I was still licking on the vicious rusk to break off. Those rusks should come with a warning. They are brutal, and the topping will not soften it enough so you can actually enjoy the whole dish. <insert horse teeth>

Mastiha is great, but 750g of sugar is way too much for 2 liters, it should only be 7% sugar by weight.

Hi! I used a different recipe before I found your video. My custard is way thicker than yours. it's 10 pm right now and the trigona are baking and I wanted to fill them in and take them to someone's house tomorrow so they can eat it tomorrow by 6 pm or so. Do you think they will remain fresh for that long? I wanted to avoid having to fill them last minute.

not possible, as with ouzo, the anisse and other gums like mastic will be a suspenssion in water. They dissolve in alcohol with a rate of 85% in a maximum ~25% mastic alcohol w/w concentration, so 15% remains to be mixed with olive oil.

I'm about to make these for the first time and just curious there's other KZbin videos that they also put lemon juice or lemon rind as well as tomato paste or fresh grated tomato. So are these things optional or are they regional what is your opinion on these going into the mixture for Keftedes?
