Quick question: where do you get your lids? I always have to use Ball lids for long term preserve storage and you have Bon Maman type lids for sealing. I've never seen those here in the U.S. And do buy yourself a funnel, it makes life so much easier!

I still dont get the usefulness of a dishwasher . I can wash my dishes much faster by hand . I had a dishwasher , i never used it so i gave it away

I perked up when you mentioned your mocha ware…..would enjoy seeing some of your pottery collection. Your home is lovely --it’s a joy to see the homes of others, and how they enjoy them.

So funny, I love this, it reminded me of such a great story. It was about 27 years ago, we lived in an old house with our two young children, not far from a beautiful woodland and close to a beach in Devon. We had no wood for the fire, the Rayburn ran on coal. We drove down and wen't for a walk through the woods and collected some fallen wood and old logs. We innocently put the wood in the back of the car and took it home where we lit a fire in the open fireplace in the living room. I was in the middle of cooking a mushroom risotto when I heard a knock on the front door. There were two police officers stood before me, I thought good lord what is wrong , is there some bad news? I invited them in and asked them into the living room where it was warm as we had a lovely fire going. They sat down and commented on how lovely and warm it was, I offered them a cup of tea. They began asking where the wood for the fire came from and we told them. Apparently we had done wrong. Someone who saw us took our licence plate and reported us. The police officers accepted a nice cup of tea and enjoyed the fire for a bit before going on there merry way. No harm was done, except for the mushroom risotto.

Confession - I live in an old farmhouse in Cornwall and we usually use the front door unless it’s a wet dog situation! I used to work at Liberty in the early 70’s - just part time for the sales and Christmas while I was at college, an absolutely beautiful place.
