The left speaker in my AV40s has very very low volume, while the right speaker sounds normal. Has anybody seen this issue and help identify what’s wrong, please? There are no m-audio repair shops in 1000 miles from me.

Thankyou very much for your support. What does the TRS input mean? Do you have a full circuit diagram for the above? I am 75 + and electronics is my hobby. Incidentally I got one of the above from my niece and as it was not working I was looking around for a solution and luckily found your site. Can you please help me? Thanks once again.
@GoranDzambazov2 ай бұрын
@@Chacha-c2b, TRS is an acronym for Tip, Ring and Sleeve, and in this case it refers to the type of connector that these two inputs are intended for. For more information you can read the "Phone Connector (Audio)" article on Wikipedia. Unfortunattely, I do not have the full schematic of the circuit, but that's not absolutely necessary - during the repair I only used the datasheet for the amplifier IC (TDA7265). With the info found in the datasheet, and If you have good knowledge, experience and skills in troubleshooting electronic devices, you have good chances to fix your set. Best regards, Goran

@GoranDzambazov Thanks for your reply. However I from the Old school! So just like your fault finding I too tried to trace the fault. But in my PCB they have used many SMD components. I have two Zener diodes in the Power supply which get hot. Voltages on the Audio IC and power supply are OK. I checked all the capacitors with a capacitor meter and found them to be Ok. But the input signal does not go through. Zener diodes show OK with the meter. Can you suggest some more method to check the Zener diodes?
@GoranDzambazov2 ай бұрын
@@Chacha-c2b, I assume that the Volume potentiometer is not set to the minimum while you are checking if the signal comes to the inputs of the TDA7265 IC. It would help you if you can find a way to somehow trace the input signal on its path. I hope that you understand that it's difficult and time consuming to assist in repairing an electronic device in this way, by exchanging messages. So, perhaps its better if you can find someone to assist you in person. Best, Goran

Qual é nome da marca desse conversor? E porque não conectou direto na televisão 📺 para vê se pegava canais mesmo?
@GoranDzambazov6 ай бұрын
The converter was manufactured by the Ei Niš factory, located in Niš, Serbia, in the time when Serbia was part of Yugoslavia. In absence of TV stations that use analog terrestrial transmission, I'm using a setup that consists of a television pattern generator made by Grundig (as a source of the UHF signal), the Ei Niš UHF to VHF converter (connected between the generator and the TV) and a Samsung TV. I hope that this answers your question.

If insteed of 4.7 V Zener diode we use TL431, which, acording with the datasheet is termal compensate?
@GoranDzambazov8 ай бұрын
Yes, an auxiliary negative voltage source with TL431 or 7905 provides better line and load regulation, and better temperature stability than a simple Zener-diode.

HELLO, WHAT IS THE REASON I COULD NOT MEASURE THE OSCILLATOR IN Hz STAGE WITH UT139C MODEL MULTIMETER? UT61C MODEL CAN READ 32.768 FREQUENCY VALUES. IS IT POSSIBLE TO MEASURE Tuning-fork crystal used in a modern quartz watch WITH UT139C?
@GoranDzambazov10 ай бұрын
The possible reasons could be a very small amplitude of the oscillations or a non zero-crossing signal at the point where you do the measurement.

I purchased a budget set of speakers a couple of months ago, the Edifier R2730db (2.0). These are the first actual speakers I purchased, so I am not very knowledged when it comes to the technical aspect. In general, I am very pleased with them, considering their price! However, I do notice a little issue that bothers me. I am not quite sure whether this is a normal, or whether there is an actual problem here (and if so, can it be fixed? perhaps I did something wrong). When the speakers are on, but nothing is playing, I can hear a pretty noticeable sort of noise coming from the speakers. It sounds pretty much like static noise, just a lot of buzzing really, somewhat comparable to a condenser microphone that produces a lot of self-noise. This happens on all connection types I have tested; bluetooth and the two line ins (CD-player or USB audio interface). When you turn up the volume, it gets worse, of course. When you turn the volume up completely, it is pretty bad and impossible to listen to. But even when I watch a KZbin video on my computer connected to the speakers via bluetooth or a USB audio interface, at what I consider a normal volume level (it might even be on the lower side, as I cannot stand loud sounds), I can still often hear the noise through the other sounds that are playing.
@GoranDzambazov Жыл бұрын
Hi, The noise issue you described does not seem normal, however, it would be difficult to assist you in isolating the cause of the problem without too much involvement. Perhaps if you can make a video recording of what you described, so we can hear the noise and get a better overview, then either I or someone else could give you some suggestion. Best, Goran

@@GoranDzambazov One screw I would like to remove is glued. I nearly stripped the head. I’m going to try to remove the glue with the soldering gun tip! I was told this speaker was buzzing quite badly but I never turned it on to listen. I just disassembled it and recapped it. The caps were obviously bulging and leaking. Well, it’s not buzzing but there is no sound output at all. The woofer and tweeter both work though, I bench tested them. The led on the volume control lights up and I have 21 volt power on both sides of the bridge rectifier. I really know nothing about electronics, just dived in to try to fix it with the help of some yt videos. I hate to be a “parts swapper” but that’s the level I’m at right now. I hope to learn electronics and be a better diagnostician soon.
