Didn’t read the comments so idk if anyone addressed your inquiry, around the 22:00 mark, when you said “idk what I’m doing wrong.”. And you mentioned that you didn’t really like the way it was looking on the very first nail that you attempted the reptile/scaley look. You also said you had successfully done it before, and in the middle of that you said you were using a clear base or top coat of gel then adding dots of color. Ok so for me, I was taught to use “blooming gel”. Now I realize you don’t have to in order to create some of these looks. A friend of keeps a bottle of her “self made” thin clear gel. Or at least thinner than the dotting color that one may prefer. But if you have not tried it yet, and you prolly have by now, try buying a blooming gel.. I use Gelish or Beetles brand. And it works PERFECTLY with reptile, watercolor looks, smoke looks, when hand drawing rose buds, among other things.

I use the nail clips and soak my cotton balls and let them sit repeatedly because I was scared to put them in the acetone. I think I’m going to face my fears and stick them in the solution. My process takes forever 😂 Thanks for sharing ❤

shiny side up, matte side onto the nail - helps me with foils when they are especially difficult to tell which side is the back usually only simple designs on clear are the ones that can be confusing (aka just like this foil)
