I bought the two person version of this. Used a screwdriver to poke 4 holes in the cot; two towards the middle for each side. The rain does catch but the cot is “water proof” and so runs down and through the holes to the ground so rain isn’t actually an issue

Eye opener for me...I thought I was missing a piece where is holds the axle on the right side until I watched this. Mine's been sitting gathering dust for years since a neighbor gave it to me. Thanks for sharing!

👍 Interesting .. thanks for sharing. That pot stand is a clone of the one in the 'Trangia 29 Mini' Set which also comes with an Aluminium Pot. I've had the 29 Mini Set for some years and it works very well for me. I would tend to shy away from using the grooves in the burner to adjust it's height relative to the pot. The stove has been designed to operate at a specific distance to pot for optimum efficiency. This also possibly could lead to the burner dislodging when not wanted. Burn time in cold weather .. including that getting the stove up to a 'bloom'. Insulating the base of the Stand from the cold whatever on which it is standing helps. I use a piece of Silicon Mat, cut to size .. that used to protect kitchen work top surfaces from hot pots. Using a match to light the burner 👍 .. my go-to. Beats trying to get the flame of a Bic Lighter down to the fuel or even worse, flailing away with a Ferro Rod .. not the best idea around a container filled with a highly combustible liquid. Just put the lit match into the burner and leave it there. In especially colder weather, it acts as a 'wick', helping to keep the fuel on the burn until 'blooming' has occurred. Yes the Trangia is more expensive than Chinese knock-offs .. but then, one must factor in where they're manufactured and such and then decide. Am looking forward to seeing your other set-ups please and until then, take care ..
