That thing has barely been touched since i went there almost 30 years ago. I estimate the memorial has made at least $200 million in that time. You guys have more than enough time and money to finish the project and 5 more, what is the hold up?

I was there in August 2017 and I am so delighted to see how it has progressed since then. I hope that I will be alive to see it when it is it completed...such an awe inspiring sight!

Saw More Than Frybread this morning before work. Wife is Apache and Yaqui. I am Mexican and Apache. Camille Nighthorse stands out and has visual presence besides being very talented. I love watching anything with her in it.

I read they are making so much in donations from tourists that want to help finish it that they work slowly on purpose.

At the time construction started in 1948, the artist estimated the work would be complete in 30 years. As of 2022, there was no timeline for when the monument would be completed; however, the hand, arm, shoulder, hairline, and top of the horse's head were estimated to be finished by 2037.

76 years later.....still not done! This family is banking the money and this project will never get done unless its sold off..... Really Rushmore was 14 years!
