My biggest pike (personal record) is 10 Lbs. But we have in Canada pikes and muskies in the 55+ pounder. Bass (my personal record is 4 1/2 lbs) and walleye over 10+ lbs. And some species of trouts we have can go over 40+ lbs. Full chart on the net available. Sounds like you guys got "baby pikes" from what I see, fun to catch and release !!! But a 1 meter-long pike will definitely give you a run for your money !!!!

I cought some trout in my state of Quebec(Canada) but never a brown trout which we do have here, as well as many other species you guys don't have(for sure you guys got some fish we don't !!) but we do have perch, few species of pikes, muskies, walleye, carps, catfish and my favorite bass but also so many others. I saw the fish available in Latvia, quite limited compared to us. What are you guys catching them with ?

Can a tourist buy a fishing license to fish in Latvia ? I'm a Canadian and someday I'd like to visit Latvia, though I do not speak the latvian language yet, but I'm fluent in french and English. And I'm a avid fisherman, I love to fish and me too I like catch and release. Nice video by the way !! 👍👍
@raimis72Күн бұрын
@@brossmart Hello. Thanks for the comment. I myself am from Latvia, but I live and work in England. In Latvia, a license is needed only for salmon fishing, but for other fish, a fishing permit is sufficient, which can be bought at every post office and every fishing shop and costs 15 euros for one year, but it can also be bought for one day, one week or one month. I myself will now go there on May 15 for one week of fishing.

15:05min ammount of blood pouring from that poor little trout😪 who t.f is using such a massive barbed hook to fish a prawn ? And what are you trying to target ? by saying ''many fish catch same bait'' ? cause that hook could easily damage not just Trout which you ''only!'' catching but Chub, Barble or Perch. Learn how to care of fish and how catch&release really works! It's not only to throwing the fishes back to river!!!
@cbseb60024 күн бұрын
mate! on your vids you sounds like you know basic rules and laws on british waters and you just keep catching fish ''out of season'' on the same method and same spots of water, so you clearly know where to cast and what to expect on prawns. Pike and perch ? lol 😅 also at around 2:55min you almost took his eye out (from inside? 😮) with that massive barbed sea fishing hook, and on most of your fish you strugle to unhook. I'm not expert in float fishing done it few times in my life as a kid but that not how trooting looks, why you wait so long to strike ? looks you you doing this on purpose to let them swallow. You could easily spot even from other side of river that you got trout on the end of your line, keep the net in the water just kneel down and try to do it in the water. Catch and release on salmonids are not like pike, perch or carp they can't be long out of water and their mouth and head are much more delicate. Luckly you just keep catching hatchery farmed shiaat, but there are some few very important wild fish and you need to learn about fish care and how catch&release works for future if you targeting salmonids.

I can't believe you didn't invest in 100 dollars worth of gear to not risk everything you've got. 50 dollar harness and 50 bucks of rope could of made the risk of falling zero. This job would of been way faster and easier hanging from a rope working with 2 hands instead of clinging onto the tree for dear life. You can use that gear for the next 20 years if stored properly. At least buy the rope and make a hillbilly harness out of 1 end if you didn't want to buy a cheap harness.
