Wow!!! So happy I stumbled on this. My grandma taught me this and we’d always sing it in the car. To this day I sing it randomly but neverhad any idea what it was.

Old gyppo came by in his truck with a loudspeaker blaring 'ANY OLD IRON? ANY OLD IRON?' and it made me think of this.

I love this. It reminds me of my Irish Jewish Grandma. She sang all the old songs to me when I was little. I’ll never forget them ❤

Do you know I like a sausage a jolly jolly sausage. Oh I like a sausage for my tea. So I went down the stairs to fetch my Um Ber Ella and a sausage came after me…. My great great great Aunt was Dame Clara Butt. This song was passed down through my family. But, I can’t find any trace of this song elsewhere? Really Enjoy your your repetitions🤗🤗🤗🤗🥰🤗

My dad and his friend used to drink Southern Comfort and got pretty tipsy and used to sing it. One day my mom had a friend record it an they played it on the radio in Billings Montana. Don't know how they recorded it back in those days this was in the late 1940s and early 1950s. Iam now 80 and remember this like it was yesterday. Thank you for the great memories.
