Here we go with the Bearing Strate bullshit!! The Russian were the only fucks who crossed the thirty mile bit of ocean. And brought the seeds to tumble weeds in their boots. It's not a native plant to America. Contrary to your racist colonizing murdering beliefs. We had intelligence and a culture that stretched all along the west coast. From Peru all the way up to China and Japan.

This is the movie that proved Shirley McLain was coo-coo for Cocoa Puffs. Her career nosedived after this, only getting some recognition as a crazy old bat in Steel Magnolias.

Shirley is a fine dancer and actress. I’m indifferent about her life with her family because there’s always two sides to every fam. situation. I would never commit adultery, nor would I judge others. I’m simply intrigued by the metaphysic subject matter. Especially her friend, David’s, experience and enlightenment.

Imagination is often confused with reality. Just because you day dream, creat stories in your head it doesn’t mean it’s true or a sign of the past or future. Shirley is a narcissist who lived for herself and good for her. She drove her own car through life and we should do the same. There are many ways of knowing. Shirley’s take is one of her individual journey . I thank her for sharing her story.

To say thank you seems so small and insignificant. I have always loved this movie. In my late thirties this movie helped me get thru the loss of my daughter. l want to say…..l still watch it! It comforts me! THANK YOU SHIRLEY MACLAINE! You were a trail blazer when it wasn’t cool! ❤

Shirley's book 'Dancing in The Light' was one of the first books than opened my mind many years ago. Thank you Shirley for writing it, for sharing your spiritual jurney, it was an act of great breavery to do it as a famous actor in western world dominated by rational thinking and christian dogmas.

I love Shirley Maclaine, but I tend to believe that not everything happens for a reason and not everything can be changed. Some things can be changes and others cannot. Believing that everything is as it should be tends to breed arrogance and indifference in this material world.

I think it is pretty ironic how a man can separate his professional side from his personal side, calling another a liar, hypocrite but yet he is lying to his wife/child and his vows. I certainly understand how she felt about him, that she "knew" him. And discovered it was from a past life. I also got involved with someone thirty years ago and he felt familiar to me, like I was "home ".....guess he didn't feel the same, cheated, left me for her, then stalked me for three years.....but he was a catalyst for me to as it was for her, to become spiritual. He was my TF, and I think Jerry was hers too...

I'm im seeing this movie for the first time. However , I have read her book when serving 72 days in jail for not following through with my probation meetings. That being said, and so much left unsaid .... The book moved me. I couldn't stop talking about it back then... You know I had forgotten how the book surprised me. Terms of endearment was how I recognized Shirley. That was when I was 10 years old watching the movie without even seeing the beginning . My friend and I came home after school or perhaps it was summer. Details I just cannot remember. It's been so long since I've reminisced about then. The first thing I thought was OMFG!!! That's what's up universe?! I so LOVE You.. ten years old, then again in 2015 or 16? When I read her book. Infact now that I remembered much I didn't realize I'd been farther from remembering till this very moment.. . The smile across my soul right now... Just wow , this very point in time this right now.... Magic. Life's a freaking Trip!! 🦋✨✨✨✨

"To get the fruit of the tree, you have to go out on a limb". First time I hear this title line. What then does it means?
@zeromt35777 күн бұрын
It is a fairly clever use of a metaphor. It's based on a simpler expression. To be "out on a limb" means to be in a risky or tenuous position, for instance physically, financially, argumentatively, etc. A person might say "I had to go out on a limb to afford tuition at this college," or "I got lost on a hike and was really out on a limb until I found a trail marker," or "that old professor was pretty far out on a limb lecturing students on who they should or should not be dating." That is the expression MacLaine used for the title of her book and this movie based on it. "Out on a limb" hardly ever refers to an actual limb, it's just a common metaphor like "on shaky ground" or "on thin ice" that means "chancy" or "precarious." Since the only sweet (or nutritious) part of the tree is the fruit -- and since it grows at the end of the limbs, what the character Gerry is saying there is that "To get good things (like the fruit) you have to take risks (go out on a limb)." Then, right after saying that, he says he's unwilling to do it. He's not willing to take the risk of an extramarital relationship. The whole sentence "To get the fruit of the tree, you have to go out on a limb" is not a very common saying, but that's essentially what it means -- to get good things, you have to take risks.

So let me get this right, in the middle of this memoir, Shirley McClain shows with clear demonstration how she and Bella avoided comparing finance laws by laundering her contributions through art purchases. Wild that she would want to tell that.
