What’s the difference btwn the 008 and the CRBN TruFoam?
@SelkirkSport2 күн бұрын
Both paddles attempt to achieve a foam core that doesn’t break or crush over time. Can’t speak to the CRBN paddle but we definitely feel we knocked it out of the park in terms of durability. One big difference is that we have released it in three different core thicknesses and paddle shaped. So there’s a greater ability to customize to your play style.

I do own Selkirk paddles and really enjoy playing with them. This looks like a paddle that is worth having a serious look at. I was wondering how my group at VPA could demo this paddle. As it may not be a good fit everyone. It is a sizeable investment for a paddle to a player on the rec court. That is not diminish the paddle as it looks like an up and comer. Any suggestions on how to do this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the review. I'm looking maybe to get the tour 16 mm, still playing with halo xl control 16mm.
@DannyBPlays3 күн бұрын
Selkirk finally gave in. They fell behind with paddle tech, nobody wants a Selkirk anymore. This paddle might fix that, depending on its power. if it's still just a control paddle then it's no different from a luxx or similar
@SelkirkSport3 күн бұрын
Hey Danny, our goal has been to make a core that doesn’t break down. It’s not about giving in, it’s about changing the standard in the market and not releasing products that are designed to fail and core crush. We desire to do what’s best for the sport of pickleball, and this core is unlike anything on the market. If you want power, order the 10mm version when it comes out.

the tour handle is too long.. cmon. woulda been an ez fast buy.. the handle is toooooo long...

Said no one else? Most people prefer a longer handle for two-handed backhands and/or extra maneuverability at the net.

'Breakthrough' -- isn't this just CRBN's TrueFoam?

no...like how Pepsi is not Coke. or how every paddle that has a carbon fiber surface is not a CRBN paddle.

I believe you just order two sizes larger in women’s. So, you would order 11.5. But, I would call or reach out to Selkirk customer just to make sure before you order.

How does it compare to the Invikta Power Air? Does the 14mm have equal power, or do I need to do 10mm to have the same power feel? Thanks!
@SelkirkSport26 күн бұрын
The 14mm is more or a hybrid feel, with plus power. The 10mm is more of a power feel, with even more power. Some players that need a little more control chose the 14mm. But yes, the 10mm will have slightly more pop the power air. Both paddles have a more durable grit that exponentially increases spin on our testing.

I got my hands on this yesterday. I was excited before playing with it and wanted to love it! Horrible for me. I’m a power and placement player, and after playing this for 7 hours, I’m not impressed. Will return it next week. My serves were not as powerful as when I use my CRBN 3x 14mm or 16mm. The sweet spot on this paddle is very small. You need to hit it dead center to get a good topspin rotation on the ball. The handle is heavier than I would like. Too bottom heavy for my game. If you like to slice and dice your shots, then it fits your game. However, I prefer my Diamond 6.0 amethyst for slicing and dicing because it’s lighter in the handle. Darn it, I had so much hope watching the reviews on KZbin.
