These tactics can work, but I can't accept it'll work on anyone, some people can see past it very easily, other's just have a certain kind of character, their mind works in a certain way. Especially ruthless insensitive people, if they don't see any value in you, or perceived so, and your discarded regardless, just what they want and what's in it for them.

@@BehindtheBrand Was thinking of a guy I know, was talking a little at first then he just started ignoring me, I slowly noticed he had treated other people the same way too. Some people really didn't like him, he was often friendly to people that could help his business and things like that too, and they saw past it. Anyway, you just get people out there like that, not that I was trying to charm him, was mostly just making small talk.

If I cannot make my mind up about something, I've worked out that it's because I really don't want it, because when it's something I really want, I say a straight quick yes, and I go for it. To have to dither, it's not for me.

Why would I want to manipulate anyone? Let alone for "good", or "bad", given that the two are socioculturally reversible?

Excellent topic! I would venture to say that most compliments are, indeed, if not disingenuous, merely platitudes. Sincere, specific compliments are highly effective in boosting self-esteem and supporting positive behaviors (manipulating for good). It's also important to match tone to context (which you mentioned) and deliver with authenticity. The unfortunate thing about sincere, specific compliments is that they take work - much like giving a good gift. It's far easier to give cash or a gift card just like it's much easier to dish out non-specific positive feedback. Interestingly, in children raised primarily or exclusively with non-specific positive feedback, there is a significant correlation with the need for extrinsic motivation as an adult.

This young lady, is as normal, and focused as you could get especially, after the tragic Shark attack that lost her arm. This I believe comes from her relationship with Jesus of Nazareth. Proof that you give him your burdens , and he will help you along , keeping a positive unafraid outlook on life. " Call on me and I will come to thee". Water is my fear in life, I am a good swimmer but being in a body of water makes me scared, if feel so helpless in water. I passed the US Navy Water Survival Course. May the Lord Jesus stay in her heart , Bless her, Keep Her Safe, Both Her and Her Family. Bethany is such a good example of one Blessed by God. Interacting with other people, being positive no worries outwardly showing. Such a fine example, I am nobody , but I am proud of her and wish her well on her journey in life!!!

I became a Paramore fan very recently, even tho I always heard their songs, I hadn't give me the chance to actually like it. Therefore I've been watching interviews of Hayley recently and I gotta say that this is my favorite so far. What I've been able to perceive from her is that she is a very humble, down to the ground person that is looking to become a better version of her self. Which is something that a lot of us can relate to. And this is how this interview was driven. It wasn't the classic gossip intended interview with pre-formulated questions. It was a conversation about two people discussing how business and personal life relates and how to deal with the bumps that you find on the way. Great job, I'm subscribing.
