No the missile changes for torpedos are not good. You blow yourself up when launching those, and now you can simply just press W to run from the torpedos. CIG are a joke they went and hired helldivers 2 balance team

Stealth in SC works like this: Every ship has a "detection radius", depending on your IR and EM. If you BOOST or your thrusters are engaged hard, you emit a big EM & IR signal (EM from your system energy being used by the components & IR from from the thrusters heat.). So, the logical choice is picking parts that have the smallest "Power to EM / Temperature to IR"" value. Also, when using stealth, you approach the target slowly, so your IR & EM stays low & your radius from where others can detect your stays small.

Wow... I appreciate the heads up. What's REALLY insane is that (at least for now) it's only the stock components on SOME ships. For example, in default quantum drives: Gladius: Military Grade C - "Beacon" - 324hp Prospector: Industrial Grade C - "Goliath" - 1,054hp Buccaneer: Civilian Grade C - "Rush" - 1,054hp

Even more to the point, I saw only one military grade component in the video, and its HP was pitiful compared to the industrial component. As a member of the military, I often wonder at the build quality of some things I'm issued, but generally, military things are tougher than civilian things... I'm having issues with the Erkul site right now but it looks like if you sort components by Health (which I assume is the device's HP) from low-to-high, there are more Military variants toward the top of the list. I think this means that there are fewer of the more durable models. That seems...backward. I would expect the military components to be tougher at the trade-off of being more expensive.

I always change this because the HP differences were present in every patch with a few exceptions. especially on ships like fighters where the components are installed outside

On one hand - agreed. On the other, i finally gave in 2 weeks ago and bought an RSI Scorpius and a Drake Vulture for real money. Did cost me but i guess i worked for it. I dont regret buying either. Knowing ill start off with a money making machine and an X-wing with 2 seats is an awesome feeling

100% agree with C1 Spirit. It's my daily driver, which I choose over many other ships in my hangar. When the Zeus will be released I might switch to that.

I think the freelancer is another great alternative to the cutty and the c1! People sleep on it because it’s one of the older ships but it has 4 size 3 guns and 3 size 2 shields, not to mention 66 scu. If you like the aesthetic and enjoy combat a bit more, I’d go freelancer, the c1 and the cutty only have 1 size 2 shield generator, so they can’t take nearly as much as the lancer. Althought the 3 ships are so similar that it really is just mostly preference at that point.

I play mostly solo atm (I only have about 500k to my name), but I am planning on branching out and joining a group once I have engaged in all the gameplay loops. I really dont have the time in my hand to get in and grind for the golden ticket as well as the event that allows one to upgrade to the F7A MkII, hence I just hope sometime down the line, CIG will just open up the F7A mkII and F8C for regular purchase without fulfilling any prerequisites.

I've been looking to get into Star Citizen for a while now so I used your promo code and downloaded, it was interesting and there's definitely a lot impressive about the game but for a brand new player I really feel like there's basically no support or onboarding. I've played complex space games like EVE before and you can get a lot, lot, lot further in pretty much any other game without looking up help. Within the first hour I was checking youtube videos and reddit and discord any pretty much everywhere else for basically every aspect of the game. The tutorial really shows you next to nothing, interacting with objects, buying items and taking off and landing your ship, which is fine but I found myself having to look up literally every little thing, like how to equip an item or how to get a mission and literally everything. I can only imagine how many people download the game for the first time, see the massive list of keybind and cant figure out how to equip a gun and uninstall.

Don't buy ships with real money. It is a waste and only encourages CIG to keep "refactoring" endlessly. The reason they keep overhauling major parts of the game is because people keep getting fooled into thinking they're buying an actual object with value.

CIG make more money off of promises than they ever would off of a finished product. It's extremely hard to make a great game, but it's extremely easy to promise one.

@@MrZhefish Part of the problem with the player relations team is that it's toxic from the top down. The senior director of player relations team is Will Leverett, who formerly had that same role for League of Legends and was supposedly proud of the community he helped foster there, lol. The nepotism at CIG is really bad, it's why you have things like untouchable Spectrum mods that blatantly play favorites, ban people for even acknowledging layoffs of major devs like Todd Papy etc. I've supported the project for a long time and it wasn't until I spent time on the forums and really started kind of witnessing the contempt that CIG has shown for backers that I got soured to the whole thing, which I never would've thought would happen since I love the game itself. Or maybe, as you put it, the "romance" of what it could've been. This latest patch was just the nail in the coffin for me.

Constantly adding more code, reworking code, fixing major bugs, increasing server demands, creating entirely new systems not found in any other games, etc causes the game to be unstable. Turns out making a giant galaxy sized FPS space sim MMO takes a lot of work.

If you bother paying attention to development Squadron 42 is almost complete, they built server meshing and are beginning to test it, they built a persistent entity system, and they just overhauled a good amount of the graphics for planets. The server meshing and persistent entity systems were the main thing holding back an mmo like this. And with Squadron 42 near done they can start adding the lore and quests to the mmo that were dependent on the single player story being finalized. I have fun right now just dog fighting in areana commander so I already got my 1 ship's money worth. HOSAS costs more than I've put into this game.

Redeemers, scorps and infernos are a huge waste imo much rather have 6 solo piloted corsairs instead of the 2 redeemers 4 bucks instead of the 2 scorps And instead of the 4 infernos 2 solo piloted retaliators and 2 more f8s

Multi crew ships are too trash rn and with MM it's just a numbers game.. 6 corsairs have 24 s5 and 12 s4 guns with 600k shield HP well 2 redeemers have 8 s5 guns 4 s4 with 400k sheild HP The retaliators have 12 s9 torps and the 2 extra f8s are better because you have the retaliators and corsairs for their big ships but the corsairs can shred anything that gets close to them, they s5 guns have the same speeds as fighter weapons lmao it's crazy Also imo a few interceptors are good to be dedicated 3rd parting people.
