"Informality is a big barrier to accessing to finance". Quoting Habil Olaka. If this is the problem for SMEs and bigger projects, then it needs to be solved. The sponsors of that solution are the people with the money. I look forward to discussions on framing the solution.

Thanks to all the panelists for the informative discussion. There's much more to be done to facilitate access to finance for entrepreneurs. The other side of the conversation is for entrepreneurs to be supported in building quality, excellently run businesses. The conversation continues.

My name is David, I used to be a volunteer in Mitaboni YP in 2000. My wife Cecilia (a Kamba) and I used to have 10 acres near Kenol. We used to farm with Drip Irrigation and I used to help teach other farmers about Drip Irrigation during the years that we lived at the shamba. At this time we live in the UK but are moving back to a small shamba near Nguluni next year and I have found your show really informative. Please keep up the great work and I look forward to your next episode.

Good presentation. One would fall in love with behavioral economics with such a presentation. Watched it all the way. Its funny though how at 35:32, he gives an example of a study in my country. There are many things that don't quiet work like the rest of the world here. For example, we use many western corporate finance text books and many of those will tell you the cost of equity is higher than the cost of debt - currently, not many people would agree with that statement here Debt seems more costly than equity to many. Lets do a study and see. Therefore, many decisions you see in that area would look irrational when in fact; they are rational in their own way.

Hi Byrne, thank you for watching. We're glad you found the video insightful. We currently have several reports on surveys carried out in Kenya with data that is relevant to the Kenyan context. You can view them on our website: www.fsdkenya.org.
