Why'd it take them so long? Guys like Marty, Johnny Horton, Jim Reeves and Don Gibson helped spread the Nashville Sound around the world, not forgetting Patsy Cline.

The song selection left a bit to be desired. I can't believe someone like Martina McBride, or Faith Hill, etc. didn't come out and wrap up the performance with "Whoever's In New England." That really would have brought the house down.

I realize Tammy Wynette was not in optimum health at 55 years old, but I have always had a gut feeling that perhaps her death was brought on by her husband at that time. That suspicion only grew seeing the way Tammy's daughters were treated after her death. Seemed to me that this husband had been "in it to win it", meaning her wealth, from the beginning. It's just all terribly sad that in spite of her dreams of singing coming true, the love she so desperately sought from a man never really did. They all used her for one thing or another but never were committed to loving her.
