Paddle snakes are bad this season I guess

A long time ago a group of us took a customized river rescue course at the Nantahala outdoor center. It was a class V river rescue course. We ended the course by running section 4vof the Chatooga. NOC is a great training facility with a great staff. I love watching newby boaters. I spent 20 years teaching college age kids how to paddle white water. Good memories.

Some days you get to see the show some days you get to be the show. There are many paddlesnakes in the Nantahala, they seem to thrive in cold water.

This was a year ago. I have since bomb proofed my roll. Hand roll, c2c, back deck and offside. I run class 5 rapids now.

Looks like a cool little creek with some fun play holes. But seriously, learn how to roll. Haha.

I live 30 mins from LRC...My advice to anyone looking to paddle it: you need to be very proficient at rolling your boat. If you aren't it will get straight up swamped like that dude's.
