This is an extremely underrated album. It is just like Immortal, buy, at least in my opinion, sensibly more melodic, a little bit less cacophonous.

In a perfect world Demonaz and Abbath (maybe Horgh) would put their diferences aside, realize life is short but Immortal's legacy shall be... immortal. Then they would put out another Diabolical Fullmoon Mysticism kind of sound record and a subsequent european tour (maybe also Costa Rica and Pakistan) like no other in the history of black metal, because they need one another: neither this nor Abbath's solo album is memorable records, i'm afraid to say...

This the best way to start listening black metal genre. Because this record is not so aggresive as what black metal is meaning, it's a little lower, as Alexi Laiho was doing, or Stratovarius or some others melodic power metal bands.

Album is from 2011, it's not new. You should check out the Immortal album from '23, it's a lot more old school Immortal then most of the newer stuff that came out after Pure Holocaust.

From all of those bands who plays Black metal on my 48 years old - only those two I'm apologize as top in those very specific genre of metal. Olve+ Demonaz = Immortal. But after we has it both in different❤. I'm a fan of melodic death metal, but sometimes want hearing frost and purest waves of the north❤

Excellent release. Haven't come across it until today but it sits perfectly in this kind of genre that Immortal have created. I know they don't work together anymore, but between Demonaz and Abbath, they've changed the landscape of metal.
