Not an iPhone or BMW owner, but came here from a link in a topic on the Chigee Community while I'm researching getting one to use with my bike and Android phone to see if there are any potential cross-over issues between ecosystems. A very thorough and well presented video, it's always the case when there are multiple options, you have the question "But which one should I use?" You've have handled and presented the information well. Thanks, I can bear the principals in mind, even though (as an Android user) it's unlikely that I'll need the specific details.

Hi, I have similar problem with the mounting bracket and need to modify it as I want to use an existing mount instead of the ball mount that is supplied. I was thinking of modifying the supplied mounting baseplate and was wondering if the ball part is removable?
@TheStammeringBiker
@TheStammeringBiker 3 күн бұрын
Unfortunately the ball isn’t removable no, I think you’d have to cut it off in order to modify it, but maybe getting some 5mm aluminium plate and using that to bypass the mounting bracket completely might work? You’d have to drill it out and paint it but might be a better solution?

I saw the video you mentioned of the chap who had his GS stolen in Reims. What a complete nightmare , his insurance company was also disgraceful and I really felt for him. I’ve stayed in Riems more times than I can remember but that vid rattled me and I bought an X1 after watching it. Nice review mate.am looking to get one of these to go with the Hiplock D1000 i already have. I was looking to fit it the same way you did on your bike. I use the hiplock over a rear wheel spoke & then over the chain,but again, it is not big enough to go over the wheel on either the front or rear.

Hello Paul? I've got the X3 which can go over the rim of a 1300GS but it is a tight squeeze and I think it will mark the rim in time, I fitted it through the center hub like you on a rental bike. If they ask for feedback from you a clip to attach to the inside of pannier racks would be useful and like John says if they did it in a bright colour you can't forget it's on and set off as I may have done😊. I initially ordered it with the core loop but it's a very awkward item to fit somewhere on your bike so sent it back. I've recently bought the Hiplock DXXL combo which comes with a 14mm loop end 1-metre chain so I can daisy chain them all together and it fits in the bottom of any luggage easily. I can't understand why they don't make the Dlocks an inch wider and three inches longer, even though they would cost more money I think they would sell a lot more. Thanks Jay

I have the same lock, which I use on the front wheel of my GSA, along with their Core Moto for the rear when away. Both feel excellent quality, however I did experience an issue with the X1, which would not unlock. I found the key would not insert deep enough and as a result, it would not engage with the lock wafers. After removing the lock dust cover and peering into the lock, I could see a small pice of black plastic, which must have been leftover from manufacture. It took a bit of fishing out with a pair of tweezers, but once out, all was ok. I need to drop Litelok a note on this, as I could have easily ended up cutting it off if I’d been away.

This looks quite a good piece of kit. I’m always wary of tyre pressure sensors like this. We have two methods of keeping the air in the tyre. The valve cap is the primary seal and the valve is the secondary seal. Anything that holds the valve open reduces the contingency for keeping the air in the tyre. If this is as good as it looks and is not junk manufactured, the Garmin XT looks vulnerable. Thanks for the video, I’ll take a closer look. Thank you.

Hi, fitted the C6 pro last weekend. Great for the commute into Manchester. One question, with the camera install, are they front/rear specific. With the rear if I set rear lens mirror to off everything is reversed. A few thoughts. The tyre pressure warning should have separate settings for each tyre. The GPS speed is hard set to Kms Maybe a way for updating firmware A screen protector would be nice.
@TheStammeringBiker

The camera modules themselves don’t seem to be front rear specific but I had the rear mirroring enabled and the image looked fine to me. I agree with your comments though, I’m hoping there will be firmware updates fr it in the future probably updated by putting the file on the SD card etc

Nice to have £8k to chuck away in 10 months! I gave up on BMWs a while back because of the business model they are pushing, funny how when you purchase the salesman always tells you that the depreciation is very low and that you will not notice it because it’s built in, then when you come to the end of the PCP suddenly the value has bombed because of mileage, condition of bike, too many around at the moment blah blah blah.

@ it shocks me that it’s not more , if this is a business purchase then obviously a fair amount is written off every 2-3 years on the balance sheet but if a private purchase then it’s not the way to purchase motorcycles, secondhand Japanese around 3years old , well maintained makes much more sense, so easy to get sucked into the BMW PCP’s , the salesman are well trained and very slick at this. If you must go BMW then go independent preferably specialist

I also own these bags. I, too, have problems locking them to my pannerier racks. For the money I paid, this is really frustrating for me. (My racks are OEM BMW R1250GSA racks.) I also hate the closure of the bags. Again, for the cost of them, this closure system seems cheap and overall complicated. I don't care for the pad lock flopping around as I ride either. I also don't care for how deep the opening is while mounted on the bike. It's very hard for me to receive anything inside the bag without completely pulling out the inner liner. It is frustrating when you need to add/remove a bit of kit on the side of the road. The modularity is nice, but not worth the inconvenience and price of them. After using these for a year, I don't think I would buy them again.
