the entire ursa line is completely underrated and overlooked, my favorite sleeper camera being the broadcast G2 which works superbly for cinema. another reason may be because the ursa cameras are supposed to be used with tripods, easyrig, shoulder mount (even though i have seen them on gimbals before im sure most gimbals wouldn't be able to support the weight) and a lot of creators shoot gimbal or handheld and want something small which is why the pocket series gets reviewed to death and gets stacked up against cameras that the ursa should be.
@DefiantFilmsTV4 ай бұрын
Yeah that's a very good point, i haven't looked in to the broadcast version too much but I've heard that from several people. Might be worth checking out. I love shooting handheld with the Ursa, much more than with my Sony for example. You get rid of all the jitter with the weight of the Ursa without having to rely on the artificial feel of ibis.

@@DefiantFilmsTV agreed, handheld is lovely on ursas. i use shoulder mount and handheld along with my viewfinder most of the time and its a dream

The g1 is an awesome camera. I will say, the g2 has a much faster readout speed which does not only help with rolling shutter, but if effects the overall way the camera renders motions. It's one of those things most people would never notice but it does help in giving the G2 a more "cinematic" image. Also the preamps in the G2 for the XLRs are noticeably better. Whether or not that's worth the extra $1,000 plus for the g2 over the g1 is up to the end user. Both cameras are absolutely fantastic.
@DefiantFilmsTV4 ай бұрын
Yeah, i feel like the G2 is definitely the one to go for if you find one within your budget, no doubt. But for the price the G1 goes for nowadays there's not much competition. :)

@-AndySenpai-4 жыл бұрын
Sorry but this video is wrong when talking about mm's, because you have to say ALWAYS the real focal lenght, not the one your camera is using, so if your crop sensor is 1.5 magnification, then your 30mm its a 45mm, so just take that in consideration, that 100mm isnt a 100mm is a 150 or something close to that.

Nice simple tutorial and the results looks really good... Mostly I see night/bedroom scenes in most shorts that are too dark and scream for effect lighting... I browsed and subscribed for future updates and catch up... If you have a sec. give my channel a look, I hope you can take a peek at my vid, >>"FRIGHT HOUSE"<< kzbin.info/www/bejne/aKK8mHWQh5lsiq8 (totally zero budget, mind you)... Thanks so much, Moses...

Hi, nice comparison! Did you use a sigma MC-11 to adapt the canon mount lenses? If so, how does autofocus work in photo and video (continuous af) with sigma 17 50 2.8 in particular? I would really appreciate if you could answer because there are not a lot of videos about sony a6300 + sigma 17 50 2.8 combo! Thank you!
@DefiantFilmsTV5 жыл бұрын
Hey! Sadly CAF is completely broken with the MC-11, but I always do manual focus anyway so for me that's not an issue. If you want decent CAF with this camera, your only reliable choice is to go with native Sony E-mount lenses (which there are a few good ones of nowadays). Sorry for the VERY late response!

the most important thing about the focal Length compression/distortion a face is the distance between the subject and camera
@DefiantFilmsTV6 жыл бұрын
Yep, which is why higher focal lengths look better, cause they force the camera to be further from the subject. Some people look a lot better at shorter focal lengths though, it's never a set rule - depends on who you are shooting. :)
