Thanks for the video. I use a 14mm f/2.8 Nikkor on my full-frame cameras. It is my widest wide-angle.

Yes its not very popular, but it was used in many movies. Maybe its because there are not a lot of popular rehousing options. I mean the Helios has iron glass as a popular and "affordable" rehousing option.

Super nice presentation 👌 May I ask what kind of lighting equipment you use?
@omenka4 ай бұрын
I mainly used a jinbei EF-60 with a jinbei ef-zf3 spotlight attached. Video on that coming soon. The rest is just diffusions, practical lighting and a projector.

Love your style! What would you say your inspirations are for framing, lighting, etc.? I clearly need to watch more of whatever you've been watching!
@omenka4 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment! I actually think that the style is a mix between many different movies and photographs. For example the wideangle shots are influenced by Terrence Malick or Yorgos Lanthimos. But if you keep an open eye for composition and always try new things, your style will evolve naturally!

I work long time with dehancer, its fantastic. But people need to understand, Filmlook is something else than, Grain and Halation etc. Its the Lenses in combination with that. If u ever looked through a Panavision Lens u will forgett everything. This is filmic, even on digital. Cooke, DZO, ARRI, ZEISS etc. This Prime Versions of the Lenses are built with Vintage Glass. The Contrast, Color Ratio, and the ant Sharpness of this glass IS FILM. The Color GRading, lightning, Actor is only 5 % of that work. Thats the Creative part, but not the FILM LOOK part. People need to u nderstand this. U can buy Dehancer and use it, but it doesnt change the feel of your footage. Learn light and film with Vintage plus Mist Filters. Than u can grade with dehancer and u will come near to Film Look.

I totally agree with you! There are many bad examples out there. I actually mentioned this argument in the video, naming for example camera movements...

Thanks for your comment. Also a great camera. I love Braw, but for me the file sizes can be to heavy for small projects.
@frederik93216 ай бұрын
yes the S5 ii is a great camera no doubt but calling it a cinema Camera is too much, for that it misses some Features like uncompressed RAW or SDI Video Output but it is a great camera for shure, i have the original S5 a GH5ii and a G81 and the first two are great cameras and yes you can use them tho shoot films in Cine Quality, but if you have worked with a "real" Cinema Camera youll see the differences in Image Quality, like Sharpness, Dynamic Range, and Color Science and see that there is a big gap to the S5. but in the End its just about the Filmmaker, and the Camera matters secondary, because if you know what you are doing you can use most cameras to make great Videos
@omenka6 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment. You're absolutely right. I've often worked with cinema cameras like the FX6 or the Ursa G2. And there are differences, such as built-in NDS. But we regularly make short films or other projects that are shown in cinemas and for the audience there are no differences. But as I said, technically you're right.
@frederik93216 ай бұрын
@omenka6 ай бұрын
@@frederik9321 Wir machen eigentlich alles in Premiere Pro. Für größere Projekte wandern wir dann mal auch in Resolve ;). Vllt machen wir mal ein Video dazu...
