This was a good recap - I was concerned when I saw your title because I have a group going to Croatia on the Surf in June... We have done several Star Clippers sailing and are used to limited dining, entertainment, activities, and pool and deck space... Comparing with the amenities of a megaship is like comparing a huge resort with a boutique inn. Small Ship Cruisers are good with all of this and often more interested in the ports and a chilled vibe aboard. Still, for those who do not have good travel advisors to explain the difference in the experiences - this is very helpful!

I've heard so many bad things about MSC that I said I would never book with them. BUT, never say never because their prices for an extra cruise next year were irresistible! I booked the Seascape with the Fantastica experience. I booked an inside room, but am thinking I'd like at least an ocean view, but don't want to be on deck 5 because of potential noise from public venues below and/or above. Now I'm so excited to try this new to me cruise line.

You might want to reconsider recommending “Dolphin Discovery” They don’t have the best reputation for how they treat the dolphins.

Thanks for another great video. We are trying Carnival for the first time next week and sailing on the Celebration. Love your tips and suggestions. We usually do Royal but are trying Carnival and hoping their food is better than Royal.

Very biased review. "Jekyll Island is not known for its food." There are several good restaurants on the island: Zachry's, McGarveys Wee Pub, Tortuga Jack's. There is also a good BBQ vendor at the Jekyll Market. By the way, the Westin Jekyll Island was built in 2015.

Yes, their best entertainment those people in the red dancing they dance at the shows they dance at the red party. They don’t have no real entertainment. It’s a lot of if you like the gay scene and all that me and kissing and all that kind of stuff yeah that ain’t my thing I don’t wanna be around me and kissing, and all that kind of stuff is kind of crazy but the food was awful all the food I had reservations at five restaurants and none of the menus have like regular food you eat Mexican that you really like Mexican was on there, like I don’t like tacos burritos, enchiladas steak like that it’s good but none of that was on the restaurant Italian restaurant. Nothing good was on the Italian restaurant. All the food was horrible. The kitchen don’t do it. I had some peace, egg yoke and caviar they serve one of the dishes that all the dishes were real strange and that every restaurant all the dishes were like when you got it like this and I’ve been sick since about, I said before I left the ship probably around 20 something and the 29th and I missed Thanksgiving. I’ve been in bed every day since I got home on the 22nd and today’s 29th. I’m still in bed. I got either some kind of food poisoning or some kind of virus. It was not a good experience so I won’t be doing Virgin Voyage again you know.. they didn’t have entertain their best entertainment. Is those people in the dance and then they doing the same steps at every party. Nothing spectacular.

Just be aware like I said, it’s not a good not a good Voyage. If you don’t like the gay scene, don’t go you know a lot of men kissing each other and all that kind of stuff you just gotta be open for all of that. And the food was horrible all the restaurants that I went to I went to razzle dazzle, pink agave, the wake , test kitchen. None of them had just good normal food. It was all like small plates and you know the design plate that they make and just not good food and I’ve been sick since so I’m still in the bed was the 28th today’s the 29th I’m still sick just a horrible experience.

We just got back from a Windstar Mediterranean cruise in Oct and it was the vacation I didn’t know I needed! Great food, wonderful people and excellent excursions with small groups. I’ll never cruise any other line. Btw there were people in their 40s 50s 60s+ and even some younger. Our ship had 110 passengers bc it wasn’t sold out. Great service too.

I was on September 29th 2024 - Carnival Celebration While was already onboard / someone pulled the fire alarm inside the cruise terminal ( hears of other passengers saying , onboard the cruise ship )

@ thanks! Cancun airport didn’t have it…a lot of inflated prices at the duty free shop at Cancun. I ended up picking up a bottle here in the US for $175 (w/ tax). I appreciate the response! ☺️
