From a small creator to a small creator, this video is ridiculous. You come off as someone who's only doing KZbin for the money, not to entertain people or to have fun. I would be ashamed of myself if I made a video blaming my viewers for my videos doing bad. I am so great full to have people who even want to click on my videos, it makes me so happy. When I have a video that preforms poorly I think about what I could of done differently, I don't make a video blaming the people who watch my videos. I've been doing KZbin for about a year and I get it, it can be rough as hell for us small creators, but this is not the way to handle your frustrations. After this video you should be great full you still have an audience at all.

@KinopiFox it's crazy how me telling people to unsub if they don't want to interact with the channel, actively sabotaging and receding my sub growth comes off as something I'm doing "for the money" If I were doing this for the money, I would be far more successful. The point of frustration is that I've noticed the way people, including me up to that point, are using KZbin makes it very difficult to gain an audience who's here for my personality. I'm frustrated because it feels like I'd have to actively go against my own passion in making videos to succeed. Please make more of an effort to not let the title color your opinion of my message because it's ultimately just an exaggeration to get attention, so my message may be heard.

@@kalosbaku I just rewatched the video (at 1.5 times speed) and you just come off even worse. You are telling people that they are too lazy to enjoy your content. To you they are just people who are actively not engaging with your content tobecuase they hate you. If you want your content to be watched then you have to work with the algorithm, not aginst it. I have a rule when it comes to KZbin, make something you want to make that people will want to watch. KZbin isn't just about what you like, it's about what people like. My personality is a big part of my channel, but if I didn't make content people wanted to watch then they wouldn't have discovered my personality to begin with. Looking into your channel your content is all over the place. There is no consistency, just random uploads. If I was a veiwer of yours I would be frustrated too. By not being constant you are causing the problem you are complaining about. And yes, I agree that if people don't want to watch your content then they should unsubscribe, but you don't seem to be making a effort in making them stay.
@kalosbaku
@kalosbaku 11 күн бұрын
@KinopiFox Mayhaps actually watching the videos would give insite in the fact that, A. I do make content that I like and that I think other people would like, B. I only have 3 types of videos, being Gameplay, Commentary/Discussion, and Sketches. There are some deviations but those aren't treated as main content anyway. Furthermore, I did not say anything about people's views on me alone, I was speaking abroad. This video is one of a pair of videos discussing things that I've noticed about KZbin that's making it more difficult for most people, having taken in a year or two of others opinions and shared experiences. I only get so energetic in this video because of the passion behind my words because, unlike the cynical view many seem to take, I actually care a lot. What I'm primarily upset with is the fact that Creators are being treated way less fairly and the fact that a lot of users just don't give a shit about the community side of things. By the way, needing to watch a video at a higher speed because me speaking at an average pace WITH a lot of pauses cut out is still too slow just makes you less credible because I doubt you've the patience to think things through further, let alone consider that I've tried countless ways to make my content more appealing to a community in the 5 years I've been uploading.
@KinopiFox
@KinopiFox 10 күн бұрын
@@kalosbaku You say you are making content people want to watch, but at the same time in the video you are saying that the majority of people stop watching 30 seconds in. If you were watching stuff people wanted to watch, then they would stay pass 30 seconds. Also, that's just how it works with literally everything. If they don't like something a bit into the video, they will stop watching. You can also be passionate in what you are saying without telling people to fuck off and that they are too lazy to give small creators a chance. You were being an asshole in the video. No one is obligated to watch small creators videos. I wish people would, but they can watch whatever they want. If you want people to like you and your content, then don't act like an asshole. There is a reason most people in the replies and in the reaction video I watched agree with me. Also, I only watched at 1.5 times speed becuase I already watched the video. I said I watched it at 1.5 times speed becuase I responded to you shortly after. I didn't want you to think I didn't watch it again.

I feel a little butthurt by this video lol.. I happen to enjoy finding random creators and seeing new things.. and if they happen to make content that currently matches my interests even better. I also like sharing channels to friends who I think might be interested in the content..but generally there's only so much I can do lol. I feel guilty for being the kind of subscriber who lurks in the shadows and only comments when overwhelmed by emotion. AND YES SOMETIMES I WON'T WATCH A VIDEO UNLESS INCLINED. OR MIGHT CLICK OFF BEFORE IT'S OVER..Idk what else to say to that.. there are times when I'm not in the mood ig. Still, you're valid in your frustration as a content creator on this hellspawn platform in particular. I saw another creator do a rant like this too lol.. and I was butthurt then too. 😭Cause how the hell do you think I found your channel man?, I am one of those random people..and I haven't yet taken a gander at what you have to offer..and I'm subbed to so many people and get pushed so much different things that I might not be able to just go on a deep dive and see if I'm interested..so why not just sub and find out along the way. I'm literally just one person..so like..idk.. I'm not trying to start a fight or something. I'm saying..your title hurt my feelings 😔💔. It hurt my feelings so much that I had to comment..and now I'm going to look at your stuff to see if I could become an active member..or know anyone who'd like too.. so I guess you won??. Engagement???. Idk. Just like, don't be so.. pessimistic is what I want to say. You don't have to have Disney level CGI and editing, but I checked some of your other vids and it doesn't even sound like you've ever written a script, a lot of rambling and repeating. If you want anybody at all to take you seriously you're gonna have to take yourself seriously to some degree.

Im not a hater or choosing an argument Sony has done the same thing in the past with the ps4 and ps3, its nothing new. The ps5 pro offers a Varity of things a normal ps5 cannot have, as a follower of consoles for awhile. They do this because it brings them market, and helps them equally grow. The ps4 was a monumental thing for ps4 slim and ps4 owners. It offered more storage had I believe more fans on the inside for cooling so you can equally play on the console without harming the live span of said console. Sony has no reason to fear anything either, they make tv's yada yada..but as I said im not here to argue. Its just that point I can't wrap my head around. Maybe youtube has done stupid repetitive shit, but sony on the other hand repeats a process that betters a console my friend. PS: Sony also said a few years back after ps5 launch they'd do something similar to xbox game pass such as getting a new game on day one if your subscribed. Xbox game pass is giving cod bo6 for gamepass subscribers on launch or something I could be wrong. Sony will NOT do payments for a game because they are big hits and will break an office. I believe they tried this with a GOD OF WAR mobile game where it gave you things in said gacha like game for every month. But otherwise I can hear you on everyother point.

it confuses me that a lot of comments opposed to the idea point to an example of people who happened to succeed due to said algorithm, the quality of a video clearly does not matter when it comes to how many views it'll get. it's the marketing, tagging, advertising, flashiness, etc. that's the reason for the obnoxious amount of slop on the platform. have you noticed how a ton of popular videos come at you with huge subtitles and a fast-pace for the first minute? I am glad some creators choose to put subtitles on the entirety of their videos, but a majority do not, and only use this as a method to gain more instant attention that will likely keep you watching because of that initial fast-pace in that manner, I think there are some things you could do to gain more attention, and it would probably work. like, the trick I just mentioned, or making a shocking/inviting thumbnail, or generally being more inviting in the video itself, but I'm not a big fan of any of that. there are also a lot of channels that made it somewhat big, and from then started following a formula to get easy views and money. which, I dont entirely blame them for since get that bread, but it makes for lame and unengaging content a lot of the time. how many youtubers have you seen that do commentary on mundane kind-of-trendy things, seem generally inviting, don't take risks by discussing topics above surface-level, throw in a lazy sponsor every video, market themselves as "person with mic looking at the camera for 20 minutes while having a reaction to mildly funny images or videos"? seen a lot of those. and their similarity is the appeal. why try anything new when you know you'll have a bunch of entertainment not too dissimilar from what you already enjoy right there? people don't like to hear that they may be contributing to a problem, rather than trying to understand and work on that, it's very easy to instead flock to channels that don't make them think about their own impact. and then they get convinced that they HAVE no impact, ending up brainlessly feeding themselves easy-to-consume content, then complaining about the lack of new things to experience, all while making the lazy content bigger, so on and so forth I say all this, but there are bigger youtubers that are funny while putting in the effort, and on the other hand it's fine to watch objectively lazier content. but deciding to keep to your routine will only reinforce it, and I know a lot of people complain about overstimulation, bad attention spans, lack of creativity, need for community without wanting to take any steps towards fixing any of those. you can take offense to videos like this if you want I suppose, it does nothing to help your issues though. if you're okay with watching exclusively bigger youtubers' content, you don't have to feel like defending the success of other creators from this "evil/lazy/whining" random dude on a site with billions of videos that said, I'll subscribe with the intention of wanting to see what you put out next, but there's no guarantee I will like *all* of your videos, it is mostly the fact these last two drew my attention. best of cheeses to you

just a small criticism because misinformation and all, ADD isn't actually a term used in medical settings anymore, and ADHD has three types (impulsve/hyperactive, inattentive/distractible, and combined type) and also is most likely a genetic neurodevelopmental disorder, so you can't get it just from social media shortening your attention span. BTW I agree with your sentiment here 100%, I just felt like clearing that up and I didn't see any comments mentioning it (if there were some I'm sorry, I hate being that person who corrects something that has already been mentioned a million times before lol)

As a youtuber my self I 100% agree with you in this video. I literally had to pretty much rip someone else's editing style (martincitopants/internet historian) just to "make it". I say "make it" because even though I put the same amount if not more editing into a 2 hour long fnaf video, It pretty much flopped in KZbin's eyes because my now mostly hoi4 (hearts of iron 4) viewers didn't want to watch it and thus KZbin didn't want to recommend it. That video is not up as of writing but I am very very confident that if KZbin were to just recommend it further and reach the fnaf viewers that video would have gotten 100k+ maybe even a million views. But since my subscribers overwhelming didn't want to watch it, I am now somewhat forced into making hoi4 or similar-ish content only if I want to succeed further in the short term. The thing is too, I had other fnaf videos up at the time I gained most of my subscribers hell, I had different kinds of content. I even pined my own comment saying please don't sub if you don't like the variety and I wish I had done more but I was so blinded by finally "making it" (aka make money) that I didn't realize that I was trapping myself. So that means that most if not almost all didn't even look at my channel page and saw was I was even about. A lot of people just watched the one video, subscribed, and just didn't look into me any further. I also want to recognize that my content is damaging and I pleases urge you, if you have less than a thousand dollars in your bank account please stop using social media and/or stop watching content like mine. I want to also say that I by no means am complaining, I personally have everything going good right now given everything that's going on in the economy. I'll be fine and have all the time I could need to "make it" even further with KZbin. I enjoy making the videos I do now and want others to enjoy it as well but I also don't want people to use me as an escape from everything. I am actively planning on being more myself in all ways and do want to make video's that people actually remember 3 seconds after watching.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't. All mighty algorithm decided to push this video on my feed and I actually watched it all, read the comments, mostly out of spite... Ma man, I understand can get frustrating, but I do not think this is the way to go. There's a lot of people who are willing to watch long form content. Channels who make 2-7h essay/ iceberg videos are popular for a reason, so I don't think we are all doomed because of short content. I can agree that there's a major group which does fall into this category, but there's very large group that doesn't??? If you wanted to vent out your frustrations and actually make a point maybe a tad bit more scripted and thought out video would be better? I'm not saying you have to have big production going on, my fav youtuber Wendigoon started his youtube channel recording on his iphone and people loved it, so no need for extra polishing on equipment, but the content itself? Maybe, bit more of overview what you want to say, plan it out, fact check a bit. Showing statistics behind algorithm and innards of how KZbin works is an interesting topic and that's why I clicked. But suffice to say, after this 14min I don't feel much welcome here, it's clearly not my genre and after reading the comments you completely lost me. Good Luck, toodaloo

I stopped the video at 30 seconds and refuse to continue cuz' it's ironic. But I rarely comment on things so that means something! I think the reason why this is happening isn't even an attention spam thingy: it's a content thing. Just like people used to joke that Nintendo innovated so other consoles could do their ideas better, small KZbinrs were always the lifeblood of new and exciting things on KZbin! I can't think of a lot of micro-trends pre-2016 that mainstream KZbinrs started that came from them and went viral without them after: maybe Joji and Harlem Shake since he was popular at the time. I think the real problem is that the modern KZbin algorithm was re-tooled to discourage innovation. And I know this is a super controversial take, but I think it happened because Americans in particular started looking to places outside of the typical news for content. People even commonly discussed the idea that little platforms just like you (in size) could replace it! But it seemed like everything was re-structured to all point towards long-form content that either those well-funded groups could produce or, well, was a commentary on them. Now everything from long form video essays about Hollywood movies to reactions to the gaming industry all seem to point riiiight back to those big media sources that were losing their numbers. I think the plug was pulled on all of us. And the reason this mattered is that there's no room to be innovative or interesting here and achieve success doing it: sadly meaning that the trend is smaller creators making less interesting content as well.

I would like to first say that I think everything you're saying is unfortunately all too true and prevalent, but your formatting and way of approaching this topic won't find its target audience. The main people you have gripes with are the ones who will click on a video and off of it when they're bored or annoyed by it, and a 14 minute video that spends a good portion of the introduction introducing context rather than delivering the point right away will engage people you *don't* have a problem with while repelling the people you *do*. Overall I love the points you're making, and its clear that your grievances are informed by personal experience and observation, but I think the presentation is ineffective at delivering the point you're trying to make to the people you're making it to (if that makes sense). Much love, and good luck with the channel! I don't know for sure if your content is something I'd find myself regularly watching, but I hope the engagement I provide helps. Godspeed ✌

You say to the channel that hasn’t been able to get monetized, even when I was trying every tactic I could to do so

And for the record just last week there was a creator who got 33k views on his first video and it was because he managed to create something so professional looking that everyone in the comments was telling him they were shocked this is his first video 😭 literally what you’re saying is not true at all maybe you should be nicer to your viewers and people will want to watch your content

@@milapartment and that Trone(y)sauce guy who’s first video got 1.2million in a month. It was an interesting topic presented well. That kind of stuff happens all the time.

If people don’t stay to watch your video, that’s on you as a creator. Most KZbinrs just look at the video that performed poorly, tries to figure out what went wrong, and keep trying until a format works😭 whining about people not enjoying your first couple videos is crazyy

I wanted to mention that I really like your hair-it has a very similar color and texture to mine from a few years ago, though yours is definitely a lot more wavy. Not quite sure what the word for this color is, though-I've heard strawberry blond, but that doesn't quite feel right

7:20 it's interesting for you to say that unless you "know what you want to watch" you can't find it. Old school youtube didn't even have the recommended of today and you HAD to search for what you want. Kind of like Google but for videos. I said this (kind of) in your last video, but I'll clarify here. KZbin was not designed for creativity. It was designed for content. Creativity is more like patreon's kind of thing. But there ARE alot of successful creatives on KZbin who think outside the box and are beloved to their core audience, but if not many people like your art, they're just not going to buy it, in a manner of speaking. Edit: wrong timestamp

You do realize the tagline this website was founded on was “Broadcast Yourself” right? It used to not be possible to monetize your videos for a while towards the start meaning the whole point was just to share your creations. As well, the old recommendations didn’t give me what I wanted all the time but it certainly gave me an indisputably higher amount of variety and chances to find something new and engaging
