Arantxa thought she was so cool with her dumbass ninja head band and manly haircut. Talk about a poor sport, any time Serena hit a great shot or a winner, Arantxa stood there acting in disbelief as if it was mere luck or accident. Such sour facial expressions and poor sportsmanship.

Serena father and coach Richard Williams said one of the reason Serena would go on to be a better player than Venus is because she understand angles better. I can see that in this match. Some of the angles she play to move Ana around was spectacular. A great match by both. Ana did pushed Serena in 2014.

Ivanovic played FAR better tennis in 2014 than in 2006, 07, 08 or 09, the years closest to her brief stint as world no. 1. Shame she blew that SF against Safarova at FO15, she could’ve met Serena in the final and put on a real show for us

Venus was injured and fatigued in the Final. Caroline W also played some of her best tennis and went on to win the Australian Open a few months later.

Keep in mind that she played Stanford and won it 2 weeks before this without a bye. She then won Toronto winning 6 matches in 7 days. Since she didn't have a bye in the 1st round of Cincinnati, she had to play two days after she won the final in Toronto.
