I honestly think Luque isn't the same after the Geoff Neal fight, mostly due to a brain bleed. He looked timid in his last fight and I can see an injury like that being in the back of your mind while you are on your back eating shots from a big hitter like Buckley. It was a weird finish, but if you look at the man's path in the last couple of years I think the reaction makes sense
@AndNEW_MMAShow

You may very well be right, he wasn’t sure if he would ever even be able to fight again for a bit there. But he did come back and beat RDA which is no easy task, I understand he wrestled more than exchanged, but I didn’t find him tentative in that fight. And in this one it’s not as if he was stuck, he almost accepted MORE shots to the head based on his choice than he would’ve if he closed his guard and tried to hold Buckley close, so idk, still confuses me. Of course it could also just be a mental thing where he’s just not gonna be the same.

@@brianhildreth9099 Sounds like my first 3 minutes in this clip is what youre looking for. As for the technique critiques from Omar, he has trained Muay Thai for a while and is a self-admitted technique snob so he wasn’t gonna be able to bite his tongue on the flaws of Paddy that are very evident, and as you said, have been noted by many. We can only be honest with our commentary and Paddy certainly has room to clean things up. As for the points about props to both fighters and especially the winner, id say that is assumed on podcasts like this. Paddy would murder us both in minutes, I don’t think we need to be clarifying that. But thank you for listening, we have a million other vids so definitely check em out if youre interested. And there are usually three of us, we’ll have our host (Mike) back next week.

I’m always gonna nitpick the technique. I’ve been training Muay Thai for over 10 years now. I’ve been watching MMA, religiously and without missing an event since 2009. I’m not a pro and I have no interest in going pro…but you’re not gonna tell me because I’m not in Paddy’s shoes or a pro fighter or a “someone” that I don’t know what I’m looking at when it comes to technique. I LOVE technique, it’s why HW fights don’t always do it for me, but i respect all fighters that get in the cage. I won’t always like them, I won’t always enjoy their performances but I will always respect the men and women who get their ass in the cage to throw down. Thank for listening man. So many of these videos. The kid was given a contract, that contract had Ferguson's name on it, he signed it and he beat the guy THE UFC put in front of him. Lets give him credit. Its certainly due. Of course he has flaws, but none of these videos (maybe 2 that I've seen) have pointed out his flaws while giving him credit. Most just take this know it all attitude and critique a fighter, while sitting on their ass in front of a camera. Its kinda hilarious. The kid went out, on a big stage, absorbing the hate even though he tries to deflect it, and won. Jesus, let's give him credit.

We gave him the credit he earned with what his performance warranted (i.e his ground game, his ability to push through while he was exhausted, looked like he was in amazing shape, etc) but we’re not gonna ignore that Tony didn’t look great and Paddy’s striking was less than stellar. I love striking and Muay Thai and I just didn’t like how Paddy approached that aspect of his game.

Maia was 40 & Colby was 29. (Woodley was 38, Masvidal was 38), Lawler was 37 & Colby was 31. These ages matter. We have never seen his style be successful against high level fighters who weren’t old. He’s famous for dominating old fighters and having FotN losses to Usman. Leon’s unusual dedication to forward pressure, constant stance switching, plus those speedy & accurate counter strikes had Colby completely off his game. People are dismissive to Leons leg kicks but he’s getting more and more effective with them. (Like Justin G.) The algorithm put you on my home page because I’ve been consuming Everything related to this fight. Quick feedback: The audio is perfectly fine, you sound knowledgeable enough to hold someone’s attention, and the heavy bag in the background doesn’t hurt. But…….. you gotta get the recaps out faster. Sunday is the best but Monday is expected. Tuesday is tolerable but after that, you’re pushing it. Only the die hards of that particular card or match up are looking for recaps by Thursday or Friday. Usually, the fans are on to the next Saturdays fights by mid week. This is all said respectfully because I saw you were a smaller channel but you have obviously been putting the work in. I’d watch again. 👍🏾

What's up man, thank you for checking us out! This is Mark (guy on the left), I will respond to all of this piece by piece. While I don't disagree with any points you made about Colby, he still brought an incredibly high pace and pressure to Usman twice who is his same age. Yes it's true Colby has beaten some older guys, yes its true Leon played a role in Colby's bad performance, but its also true that the Colby who fought Leon did not even resemble the Colby that fought Usman. Thanks re: the audio, knowledgable, etc. points. Not sure if you happened to check out any of our past videos, but there are usually 3 of us. Our "host" Mike had to miss this week because of a work conflict. Your last point about the timing of our recaps, I 100% understand. Unfortunately we all have actual jobs, and as of now, Wednesday night is the night we can pull off to all meet and record. This means the episode usually drops on Thursday. In a normal week it includes both recaps and previews, so this works out preview wise, since Thursday isn't a bad day for those, but recap wise I totally understand your point. I wish we had time to record a recap ep earlier in the week and a preview ep later, but unfortunately we don't as of now. I hope you keep checking us out, and I love the constructive criticism so anything else you got let us know. 👊
