I had one in the 80s and I loved it, quick sporty and cheap to run. I wish they would make a few cars like that again so lower income people could afford to buy a new car

Back in the Fifties we used to call the automatic transmission kicking down to a lower gear when the gas pedal was pushed "passing gear". All it really was was the transmission dropping down to second gear for better accereration.

I bought a 1956 Plymouth Savoy 4-Dr, 2-tone green. After 2 months, the engine just broke down on the freeway, called for a ride to pick me up and I just abandoned it right there and never looked back.

All the engine sounds in Christine were done with a 1970 428 cj mustang. The only way to get that sound with a 58 Plymouth is to swap in a FE ford engine

I don't think many 318s had the four barrel option, but they should have. I always thought the MoPar steering wheel was too high.

Nope..Either the 318 polyspherical with Duel 4 barrel or a Big Block 350 with Duel Four Barrel that the movie car Christine had! 1959 the 350 turned to the 361 and 383 later the 400 Big Block...Yes Chrysler had a 350 over a decade before Gm did

@mypronouniswtf55596 ай бұрын
Yes it did...318 polyspherical aka Wide Block was around 1956-1966 before the 318 L.A..Confusing they had the same cubic inch but they had 318's.. These were 318 2 barrel or a 318 4 barrel and even 318 Duel 4 Barrel This will really throw you off,You either had the 318 duel 4 barrel in a Fury or a Big Block 350 Duel 4 Barrel that movie car Christine used...The 350 was Chrysler's first bib block and turned to the 361 in 1958 also the 383 in 1959...it also later turned into the 400 big block..These are low deck big blocks and lower/narrower than the 413,426 and 440 big blocks known as raised block.
