As a decades long barber ive never seen anyone cut hair on the outside of the knuckle its a real good way to trim your skin. Most use the palm side of the fingers .

Thanks man, i was trying to achieve this cut and fed up with the cookie cutter barber shop fades in my area. I said scre it and went for it after watching this video a few times. Ive been cutting my own hair 6 months now. The fade work has been easy. My mistake was trying to tape myself. Im growing out that mess but overall i say order clippers and stop buying in to the scam
