Once it’s heated and clamped, dip it in cold water for 1 minute and you’re done. You’re welcome
@seldendaniel88193 күн бұрын
An alternative is to clamp the hose in the shape you need and soak in hot water for some time.

I've seen people pack PVC tubing with warm sand in order to bend it without kinking, I imagine it could work for rubber too
@paulbuckner3753 күн бұрын
You can’t re-mold rubber. Raw rubber remembers every thing that done to it and you cannot re-shape it by any method.
@Gazr9655 күн бұрын
Good idea. Especially the over bending to compensate for kinking when hot water in pipe. Gaz UK
@brunonikodemski24206 күн бұрын
Do not do this with pressure hoses. Thermoset rubber does not hold its strength when it is re-heated to its melt-phase. Parts of the rubber will become microcracked and will fail much faster than an original molding. It is only the braid material which then holds the hose together. This might be a good "temporary" fix, but not meant for a long-term replacement. Water hoses and vacuum hoses will be OK with this, where the pressures are only at one-baro, but for Gods sake, do NOT do this on brake lines. GM engineer.

Make a simple fixture to hold the hose the way you want it so you don't have to hold it and you cant let it cool in the fixture. Chuck of plywood and some nails will do it.

They are external springs for copper pipe. If you are goi g to use them internally, tie some copper cable to the far end and feed it back through the centre amd pull it out usimg that. Otherwise kt doesnt take long to ruin your spring.

Kudos at 9:25 I also like to include learning mistakes in my videos when possible. It may not make me look like a genius but it seems like it would be more helpful to the audience. BTW I use a welding table Ill make a video soon and show you what Im talking about.

For sure! I'm all about saving money and won't use new gloves to destroy them by hit. Next time I think I will use welding gloves instead.

At the beginning he’s says the key word. It “weakens” the hose. Don’t do this!

can this method be used on oil resistant hose..ie transmission hose? I plan to remake some bent pcv hoses. Regular heater hose for coolant seems obvious.

Oil is cheap and engine is expensive. People always told me not to be cheap when fixing car. That is why I buy engine and not oil. My car very good. I get new engine every 3 year. Very good and fast. -Boris

I change my oil every 5 miles or 24 hours (whichever comes first). If you change your oil any less frequent, you're just asking for problems.

handy tip. The best tip is at the end, to "overbend" the hose so it will settle to where you want

Ok. I don't know the "butter" temperature one would need, but I have conjured up some tweaks for your mousetrap that may result in a smoother more uniform part using the same materials. -make a jig on the bench -stuff hose full of sand and tamp it down -bury hose in a box of sand -heat in oven at (magic) temp for (enough) minutes -pluck hose place in jig (leaving sand inside) -maybe dump hot sand on it -let it cool overnight There! I just wrote your next script! (btw, thank you BTW, for explaining how the real thing is done. Love to learn.) Thanks, mans!
@ngtitovWorldOfCars21 күн бұрын
Thank you for the script! There are multiple viewers who suggested the same method. I personally haven't tried yet, but I'm going to for sure next time I need a hose. There's always spot for improvement and improvisation especially for DIY guys. Thank you for watching!

Way too much of the front extensions out to begin with. About 6 holes if what you need for the system to function more reliably. Lippert's Ground Control 3 is very flakey. You should re-zero the system as well.
