Group Solo produced at least one LP that I’ve seen. Would love to get the music from that LP.

In 1982 I honestly think there could have been three bands tied for first, that year every single steel orchestra was great.

Back in 1968 I saw Group Solo's video of this on local TV and was amazed by Robert's skill on the organ. They started off as The Group and added "Solo" when the manufacturer of the popular soft drink by that name sponsored the band.

The great old days, I completely forgot how great these old steel orchestras played, the arrangement was fantastic, they remind me of All Stars a bit.

In the era of fairly primitive electric guitars and amps in Trinidad, Lyn Taitt and Darlington Brown stand out from the crowd as big band guitarists before the combo era.

One of the best steel band performances and only one view, what a shame. Was telling some emotional asswhole trinis that the bullsh!t they listening too and calling pan arrangement is utter rubbish! and anyone one of these old panorama arrangements from long ago would run away with any panorama title today. Now hear this classical pieces vs the crap they putting out today, just pure noise and zero melody. now this is a classic, thank you beverly griffith and Robert greneige.

The refrain is taken from "Brother Neddy", which was popularized by the Merrymen of Barbados, I believe a few years before this (although there are no dates on their early records). They credited it as a "very old and suggestive Barbadian folk song" but I'm not sure how old the song actually is.
