Hey Richard, nice video. Can you give me more details about how you made the two module setup work to be able to add more pads/cymbals? I understood you connected the headphone out of the MPS850 to the aux in of the MPS1000 (and had to configure what exactly?) and then what else did you do? Thanks!
@RichardSchoonderbeek10 ай бұрын
Hi, there is a separate cable set available on the Thomann website (Millenium MPS-850 Cable Loom). Connect this to the MPS-850 and you will have 7x stereo and 2x mono jacks extra ! And also you have extra trigger inputs on the back of the MPS-850 module, so a total of 11 inputs! The MPS-1000 also has 11 inputs in total, so by combining the modules you can have a total of 22 (!) Inputs. . At this moment i only use 4 extra cables for the 4 extra pads/cymbals i have . . .
@GuidoScocozza3 ай бұрын
@@RichardSchoonderbeek Hi Richard, then I guess since you connected the Audio out of the MPS850 to the AuxIn of the MPS1000 then whatever pads/cymbals you have connected to the 850 will not be detected by a DAW since there is no Midi connection to the computer or MPS1000 from the 850. So this would only work with default sounds from the MPS850. Cool idea though.

Is it possible to expand them by MIDI? what if you connect the 850 to the 1000 via MIDI. I have a mps850 and i'm wondering if i can add another module to expand it but by MIDI instead of the AUX.
@RichardSchoonderbeek Жыл бұрын
Interesting question, because the 850 has a 5-pins " old school" MIDI-output, and the MPS1000 has only a usb to midi output (to connect to your PC). So no 5-pins MIDI input on the MPS1000 ! So to be honest, i don't know if it will work if you try to connect both of the units via the usb-midi in/output ! UPDATE ! The MPS850 is capable of receiving MIDI data, as the MPS1000 is NOT ! So, the MPS850 will mostly be usefull as a "slave" unit.

Headphones -out from the MPS850 to the line-in on the MPS1000, Headphones connected to the MPS1000. If you want to use VSTi's you would probably need to connect both modules to your PC by USB.

Hi sorry to bother you. I was wondering if you have had any issues with the Hihat miss triggering and failing to calibrate. I have had the MPS1000 2 up 1 down single March 23 and have nothing but issue after issue. I have tried everything to get Hihat right and nothing works. Any thoughts thanks in advance
@RichardSchoonderbeek Жыл бұрын
Yes, in the beginning i also had some struggles with the hihatt, only calibrating did not seem to work. so i also tried to adjust the height of the hihat pad, starting of from the highest possible position. Then i adjusted the pad's sensitivity (as with any other pad) . For me, playability is up to 90(or so)%. So, yes, it still has a 10(or so) % misstriggering when using the module. Funny thing is, when you connect it to a PC/DAW/VST , it is much more accurate.

Hej, first of all nice video and second happy to see you use an MPS850 module for extra pads. I want to rebuild my acoustic kit in electric so I can play at home without all to many noise, double bass (double pedals on e-drums) 1 tom, 3 floor toms, snare, 2 hi-hats (one playable) and 9 cymbals (4 crashes, 2 effects/stacks, 1 ride and 2 Chinas) Lazy Sunday so I took the time to look up the kit, read reviews and watch videos I found, it really make the decision easy. Ordering the 1up 2down set, an extra 14" floor tom and an MPS850 set. Hope to get both sets home before Holydays vacation so I can experiment and have fun. Greetings from Groningen. 🤘🤘🤘

can you do tutorial of how you put extra cymbals and setting on the module
@RichardSchoonderbeek Жыл бұрын
There is 1 input called "EXT", you can use this for a extra crash or pad if you want. the other input called "crash2" is already in use by the second crash, if you bought the complete set. On the YT page of millenium drums you can find more info about how to change the settings and edit the sounds!
@MM-tt3np Жыл бұрын
No need to spend extra money on a expensive module when the best sounds are from the VST's. Which are easy to download for free on internet, all of them ;) Your kit looks awesome! It will probably trigger 98% right of the times, but for $5,500 less it's a steal.
@RichardSchoonderbeek Жыл бұрын
the purpose of this video is to show that you do not need a VSTi (including PC) to rehearse with this kit! and yes, a (free) VSTi is better sounding, but in some cases you need DAW too! Free VSTi,s often use only one free drumset available. Check the website for the MPS-850 module (or the MPS-1000), you will find that these modules are less expensive than a good payed for VSTi !

Hey! Thank you for the nice video, it helps a lot as i am researching in order to buy this set 🙏🏽 also great playing! Just a quick question in case you know. Sometimes I might need to have 2 extra toms, so naturally I thought about buying the set as it is and add 2 extra 10x6 toms. The problem is that I don’t know if it’s possible to connect this extra instruments to the module. I thought of maybe using the 2 extra cables of cymbals and to have a set up like : bass drum, 2 flour toms, 3 toms, snare, hihat, ride, which is fine with me but I don’t if it’ll work. Any ideas on that ? Thank you again!
@RichardSchoonderbeek Жыл бұрын
Hey. As mentioned before it is possible to use the extra inputs, because there are 2 of them! You can assign any sound to it, so Tom sounds or cymbals, whatever you want.after editing you need to save it as a user kit.

How durable does the kit feel? I found on some forums that the kit seems badly build and will fail. I am considering this kit over a simmons sd1250 so how durable and how accurate does the kit seem? Feedback appreciated!
@RichardSchoonderbeek Жыл бұрын
Given the price of this set you can't expect the highest quality wood and finish to be used! The overall build quality is fine by me, the hardware is very sturdy. But, for instance, if a crash might break down after a while, just buy a new one for 99 euros ! ! This set has the looks of a real drum set, but that may only be important optically and aesthetically. The most important thing for me is the playability and feeling during practice, the layout is an exact copy of my acoustic drum set! For me this set is sufficient as a rehearsal set. . .(at least for now) .I think the response and accuracy are fine, the settings and fine tuning are very important. I honestly can't tell you how this set will hold up if you plan on using it on stage. And, the Simmons set, I don't know enough about it to make a fair comparison, except for the fact that the Simmons is not a "real" drum set.
