For some reason, I thought the EG-5 was meant to be an eerie reflection of Darth Vader. I even called it "Proto-Vader" because I couldn't be arsed to remember its designation. Dunno why I thought that back then, maybe because you fight it as Anakin and maybe because its introduction kinda mirrors Vader breaking out of the surgical table retraints at the end of Revenge of the Sith.
