Kingdom Key is Kingdom Key. You can't change perfection. It is THE Kingdom Hearts keyblade and the first one anybody thinks of when you talk about the franchise. Bravehart, similar to Fenrir from KH2, yes is based on a more traditional pin and tumbler style key, but Braveheart specifically is based on what is call a dimple lock. Rather than the grooves of the key being on the edge of the key like traditional pin and tumbler types, dimple keys utilize the sides of the key with the intention of making them more difficult to pick. Only comments I'll make about the Disney keyblades is for the Nano Gear and the missing or incorrectness. You can see Go Go's disks on the handle near where the keychain connects. The part of the guard where the blade meets is based off the microbots from BH6, the face being the one Hiro put on a combined bot he made out of microbots to enter a tournament, nothing to do with his brother. The end of the blade is not made of microbots but rather KH3's darkubes. Pretty obvious they share that same visual. For Oblivion, I think most people assumed the inner area of the blade was hollow and had a chain running through it, just that rendering the keyblade was easier for KH1 and KH2 to leave the spaces black. As for the sharing of Double Form with Oathkeeper, the reason for one being called Double Form OBV and the other Double Form OKT is for the player to identify which of the two keyblades is going into Double Form. While I somewhat agree that inverting the two to each other would make sense, Roxas wields Oblivion is his right hand and Oathkeeper in the left, so making the Sora's the inverse when he holds both makes sense.

Hopefully they wont return to that habit in kh4. Not because i hate kh1 secrets, quite the opposite. But imagine kh3 with its annoyingly huge empty vertically worlds...its just not working. In kh1 it worked cause of the mapsize limitation so you could afford to look into every nook and cranny without running around for hours.

I hate Re-CoM's traverse town theme. That singular slightly sped up part does not feel okie-dokie.

I wonder if the recolours to more brash and ugly colour schemes were to retroactively make the heartless more visually different from nobodies. The more sinister purple, black and grey pallet doubtless suits the theme of the heartless better, but if the nobodies also need to be muted and sinister something's got to give. Can't have two factions looking too similar.

I never noticed the oathkeepers teeth being the Kanji for light. Ibalways saw it as a snowflake

some of the recolors i like, but most i find are stupid and ugly. the original colors were all perfect, and i'm still upset that they did the recolors anyway. felt like a gimmick to encourage people to buy the final mix versions. i think i wouldn't mind them so much, but it never felt like they put much thought behind the recolors.

I will say guard armor in final mix does look more than Sora color scheme wise. As someone whose first game in the series (not demos) was KH1 final mix I gotta say the original purple version looks better.

The fact traverse town even exists is kinda freaky. Like imagine knowing that world being destroyed is so common the universe itself has a safeguard for anyone lucky enough to survive the first time. It’s also inherently not safe from the same fate since we see heartless there anyway. DDD makes it even worse cause we see that to some extent it’s MASSIVE too which is even more worrying

My issue with Riku’s new key is it disregards both character design and thematic design. Every other character’s evolved keyblade takes elements from their past keyblade and grows off that, even Way to the dawn did it but his is just like “here’s my new car key” for some reason. I wish they actually evolved Way into something that reflected how he had grown instead of weirdly tossing it away in a way that doesn’t make sense

I think the biggest thing with the short keyblades is the chain length isn't reduced? When it's fully stretched in the menu it's like... the same length as the blade making the blade look even more stubby than it would otherwise. They look /squished/ rather than just short. The guard and chains need to be scaled down just a little bit to compensate.

The clown reminds me of THAT room from Silent Hill 4

why do all the halloween town skins make all the keyblades look so good? like, it adds a wood texture to the circle of life keyblade and why isn't that the default? it looks natural and awesome! and the space paranoids keyblades look cool too!

Robed Ansem is probably the most "creepy". The weird end to his sleeves/no face gives an (Uncanny Valley) type vibe. Something "out of this world" if you will.

Something I didn't like about a lot of the keyblames that are given to Terra, Ventus, and Aqua was that those keybales were focused more on magic than strength. They didn't leave you with much options for a strength set up, especially for Terra.

I will always and forever have a soft spot for Never Land Sky, as a kid I sat on the clocktower and just looked down at the city in that old PS2 rendering. The song is just perfect for how short and sweet it is. Too bad the damn Phantom ruined coming back to it so nicely!! Honestly, Nomura really gave us a lot of Peter Pan in the series, and I'm absolutely okay with that as Peter Pan is my favorite Disney movie for purely nostalgia reasons (it's the only Disney movie that makes me feel super good, and again for purely nostalgic reasons)

I'm surprised to say that I think the Re:CoM versions for both are my favorite... Though the original KH1 Hollow Bastion is still probably my favorite overall due to the bass being stronger in the finale than most other versions.
