There are 3 hydraulic systems on the A320 (Green-Left, Blue-Center and Yellow-Right) and only 1 PTU. The PTU links the Green and Yellow systems. Normally these 2 systems are powered by the engines and work independently, and the PTU does not come into work. In the event of one of the engines fail in flight, the PTU kicks in to transfer power to the other system. On ground with the engines not running, the yellow system has an electrical pump. The PTU also kicks in the transfer power from the yellow to green system.

was there any ac power on the seats?
@flightnomad3 ай бұрын
I think there was a ac socket under the seat for the B787-8. Not sure about the A320Neo, I forgot actually.

great video. Did you check in a bag. Were the staff strict with the weight.
@flightnomad3 ай бұрын
Yes I did check in a luggage and thats the reason why I nearly missed my flight to Melbourne. The Japanese staff (from Japan Airlines) told me I have to collect my luggage at Shanghai because the flight to Melbourne leaves next day. And I nearly missed the flight because I was waiting for my luggage to arrived in Shanghai Pudong. The staff are strict with weight (especially Japan) and can't go over 23kg. No check on hand luggage, however.

How did you find the flight, service and the aircraft? We are looking on thru them as well as they are the cheapest going to Japan from Melbourne as well. Thanks

Aircrafts are pretty new. especially the A320 Neos. Food is acceptable and can't compare to the likes of Singapore Airlines. The only downside is that the layover time between flights while transiting in BWN can be quite long. Free Airport internet is only available for 30 mins, which is pretty stingie in my opinion. It is better to purchase access to their Sky Lounge during your layover.

A very nice report. I am, however, a bit surprised at your having given the food services a score of only 4. Everything looked delicious and well-presented and the portions certainly looked generous. So, why not a 5?
@flightnomad4 ай бұрын
Thanks for your message but I don't think the score was meant for the Food alone, I gave it a 4 out of 5 for in-flight service which is a broad term that includes meal, customer service and etc. Whilst the meal portion is generous, it doesn't actually get more points for being bigger portion. There should be a balance between portion and taste. Why it isn't a 5 out of 5 is because the crew is not as attentive as they are compared to other airlines I have flown on.

I know right. Aviation enthusiasts will remember the good old Kai Tak and the aircraft that flew past closely past buildings in Kowloon City.

I used to fly CI B747-400 on TPE-LAX vv, she really is the Queen of the Sky

CI flight attendants are really friendly as well. It’s a pity that they had to retire the B747-400 sooner than planned. Missing them dearly.

On my honeymoon we were in Amsterdam at this very spot. In the evening my new wife said she was very tired from all of the walking and she wanted to turn in early. I told her I had a couple of books I wanted to read in the park so I went to a brothel, knocked off a hot young piece from Russia went upstairs and got a hot shower and slept like a baby.

Brunei airport is nice but very small. It is probably worth taking a taxi into town or rather an area called 'Gadong' which is where you will find most of the life and action as it were. Lots of Malls and hundreds of cafes. Allow 15 mins by taxi, each way, as traffic can be heavy, even though Gadon is actually within a few kilometres of the airport! Caution: there are very few taxi's in Brunei! make sure you arrange the return trip to the airport!! As I live her and have never taken a taxi, I don't know how much they may charge but I think it might be around $25 each way, which is quite expensive.

Thanks for the tip! Does Uber or Grab work in Brunei? I am the opposite direction end of July. Would love to visit Bandar Seri Begawan town again.
