The disease did not bring anything; this is how people interact with it. It's kind of like the disease is the thoroughfare through which people interact with other people.

Be very aware of who holds an EPOA. The courts are full cases where seniors are being financially exploited and it can cost thousands in lawyers. The law is so light in this area and unless there is physical abuse, police are hesitant to act under law 331 of the criminal code in Canada. There are various theft-related charges that cover elderly abuse including s. 331, which makes it a crime for someone holding power of attorney to fraudulently sell, mortgage, pledge or otherwise dispose of the property of a person under their care.

Part of the post-surgery process includes flushing the bladder/prostate/urethra with large quantities of saline solution (measuring how much was put in and how much comes out) and monitoring the color of what comes out. Seems like this would contribute to dehydration of the patient. How is hydration monitored to make sure the patient doesn't experience serious dehydration? [Asking for a friend.]

This talk is amazingly good. Thank-you for sharing it online here. It has helped me feel more compassionate towards my father in law, who is literally having hallucinations and delusions, and has banished me, ... and now the whole family. His caregivers are fleeing also, especially during his bad periods (usually a few days) of hostility ... When he is fine, it is as if none of the awfulness has happened; we however, are often still reeling, and feel fairly abused. It's the disease,However, I see some of the behavioural elements (creating false narratives and enemies), as a continuum with how he was in life, unfortunately.

I'm on coumadin for a mechanical heart valve. My past surgeries allowed me to go off of the coumadin for 3 days. Is it still possible for me to get the aquablation treatment? If not what's the difference between a the aquablation, holep or TURP procedures when it comes to bleeding? From what I have seen, it is common practice to cauterize any bleeders after the main procedure has been completed. Why is the bleeding (off of thinners) issue so critical for aquablation and not TURP and holep? Thanks

I'm 71 and just this week (Nov 2023) I had this procedure for my 108 gram prostate. Had been taking minipress and flomax for 9 years. I am beyond pleased. Wed afternoon surgery, Thur afternoon discharge, Fri morning removal of catheter in the surgeon's office. I started drinking tons of water as soon as I got home and 30 minutes later I was startled by just how effortless and strong my stream was. Why the hell didn't I do this sooner???
