I wonder if JungKook has had more difficulty adjusting to military life than Jimin. I say this because he has been youngest all his life but he will be one of the oldest among the recruits. He may be older than some officers. As an American, the age hierarchy is something I only have a passing understanding of how it impacts daily life. I could be wrong, just a thought

I wonder if they used those translation so American audiences would understand the correct sentiment. In the US if you use romance or romantic it is usually understood as romantic love. I think on the bike ride they were using “romantic” in the classic sense “imbued with or dominated by idealism, a desire for adventure, chivalry, mystery, etc.” To me “this is youth” conveys a sense of adventure, enjoyment of the moment, whereas “this is romantic” sounds more like they are on a date. It’s a difference in culture. I’ve noticed that Korean boys & men are more physically affectionate (hugs, cuddles) with each other without it being assumed as romantic or sexual. “Pretty” is usually a feminine adjective rarely applied to men. “Looking good” is more culturally typical for men than “pretty”. Literal translations can be misleading without knowledge of the language and culture. I don’t think the editors “mistranslated” their conversations just made translations they felt conveyed accurate meaning.
