Greetings from Canada Ray🍁. It’s 12:50am here. Can’t sleep. Temperature is 0 Celsius. I’m not liking it. lol. Hitting a high of 14 today and temps up to as much as 18 next week. - absolutely splendid views from Hepburn Woods. Is this in Northumberland? The colours are beyond amazing. It’s the purples that really stand out. That Bronze Age grave site is quite the thing to come across, as well as the section of felled trees. And there’s that beautiful piece of music again that I love so much. Short but sweet and greatly appreciated. Great camera work as always Ray. You and Alf stay safe and warm. Time to cozy up. Til next time ❤️🇨🇦🇬🇧👋🤗🐈‍⬛

Hi Jill 😃👋🤗 the nights are definitely getting chilly now, I think here it’s been getting down to around 7C and currently daily temp around 14-15c so certainly not sun bathing weather 🤣 unless you’re one of those who dresses like they are in a different location and gets 25 colds a year 😂😂 Make sure you keep warm 🤗 Yes Hepburn is in Northumberland, it’s classed as Alnwick but it’s a long way from there and actually closer to Chillingham (home of Britains most haunted castle and the Chillingham cattle 🐮) chillinghamwildcattle.com/ The colours of the trees and surrounding lands is spectacular at this time of year, so many different colours. When I came across that grave I thought “who actually took the lid off and why didn’t they put it back” 🤣 it’s probably a ton weight, it’s difficult to make out on film but it is lying to the left of the cist. Hoping to get out today (was painting fences yesterday after dental check up, --quickest way to make money-- become a dentist lol 🤣) Poke around a few mouths and hand over the bill 🤣🤣 Alf is keeping warm 🐈‍⬛ he sneaks into my armpit, curls up in a ball and goes to sleep 🤣 he’s such a softy but has the most amazing nature and temperament. Well until next time please look after yourself, keep warm and stay safe 🙏🏻🤗❤️🇨🇦🇬🇧🐈‍⬛

Hi Jill 😃👋🤗 yeah I love doing this walk but don’t visit very often as it is quite a distance. I’ve been trying to find a warm day and it was thankfully 😁, but the temperature has been dropping daily since then so I was very lucky. I never capture the full walks as nobody would ever watch 🤣 but there are 8 bridges on this walk and every one has its own beautiful views. I never spotted that little grey blighter 🤣👽 but between you and me I did look 😂 I rarely get time to spend a lot of free time on my wanders but occasionally find someone to have a chat with which can give me a little break. I’m glad you enjoyed this. Temperature today is 11C so heading for winter already 🤣 the leaves are already falling so it won’t be far away brrrrrrr 🥶 Until next time stay safe and warm 🙏🏻🤗❤️🇨🇦🇬🇧👋

Greetings from Canada Ray. 🍁Wow. Fantastic footage! Part of nature but at least it’s a swift kill. Interesting how the females have a black patch of colouring on their ears as well as the tips of their tails. I’m assuming these three would be from the same pride as there’s no aggression towards eachother. Not sure if the male was more interested in the food or the female lol. I know the females do most of the hunting as they’re more agile. Neither of the females ate first, so I’m guessing it’s common place for the males to get first go at the kill, and the females to feast on what’s left? I know with wolves there is a hierarchy of which wolf gets which part of the kill depending on their role in the pack. I saw vehicles there. How far away were you from the lions and did you use a drone to capture the footage? I liked the music you chose and it probably is best without commentary. You can always put details in the description if necessary. If you’re not able to get out and about in the different seasons these would be great fill-ins. I’d love to see more videos like this. It would be interesting to have a bit of info in the description such as where you are and what year it was taken. Curious to know how many safari trips you’ve been on. I know you’ve said these trips are very close to your heart both in what you got to witness with the wildlife and the people that you shared the experience with. Thanks for sharing Ray. Hope all is good with you. Take care. ❤️🇨🇦🇬🇧🤗

Hiya Jill 😃👋🤗 yeah this sort of footage is quite rare I’ve even seen wild dogs kill one of their own which was a bit gruesome. They don’t always eat the kill, it’s like this with hyena too. Lions kill their competitors as they all tend to steal from each other so eliminating some competition is less to worry about. Kill or be killed tends to be the Motto lol. It must be such a tough life having to catch every meal. I could rarely catch a fish so I’d be useless 🤣🤣🎣 You are correct the males tend to get to pick the best “seat at the table” 😁 but definitely not always, those ladies can gang up 😂 The vehicles can get within a few feet but thankfully the animals are used to seeing them and don’t see them as a threat. Try telling that to a three ton elephant 🐘 in musth 😳 they can be very unpredictable. The safaris were done predominantly in the Sabi Sands area approx 500 miles north of Durban. It can definitely be difficult fitting music to wildlife especially the dramatic stuff. The safaris are a lot different now and very commercialised, but as for something different…. I may do some live streams which I’m sure you will find interesting and VERY diverse lol… you may even wonder “ how on earth is he doing g that” 🤣 Until next time, I hope this message finds you well 🙏🏻 take care and be safe 🤗🇨🇦🇬🇧❤️☺️

Greetings from Canada Ray! 🍁 My man Capability Brown does it again! From Wallington Hall’s peaceful walking paths through the forest and ponds (love the lily pads that further accentuate the greens), to the well placed gardens of vibrant flowers and plants, he always brings that little touch of magic every time. I wonder if he thought his work would go on to be enjoyed and applauded all these centuries later. Looks like you had the perfect day to do this. Fantastic footage as always Ray. You really have a talent for capturing the beauty and essence of a place. Thank you, as always, my friend. Hope this finds you well. Take care til next time. ❤🇨🇦🇬🇧🤗👋

Hi Jill 😃👋🤗 definitely “Mr Capability” had a talent to see into the future and how things would look once matured. Wallington is a great place to walk, it takes around an hour or so to do the full walk or in my case a bit longer as I stop to film stuff 🤣 📹 and occasionally (like this visit) have to stop and chat to explain what I’m doing with my cameras 🤣 but it’s nice that people take an interest though 😁 The gardens are beautiful, I didn’t film anything down the bottom but maybe next time I will spend more time doing that. The river walk is fantastic and always quiet, I’ve filmed deer 🦌 down there a few times, once in the dark with infra red 😱 bit spooky down there in the dark 🤣 I’m glad you enjoyed this abridged wander and thank you so much for your kind words, it means a lot to be appreciated even though I don’t get many visitors nowadays, it means a lot for your support. @@Raybo1uk I noticed the one fellow pointing out your drone. Your videos always give me that little bit of “zen” that I so much need. The town where I grew up (Pinawa) is officially the deer capital of Manitoba. The deer population is insane. For example, during daylight hours, on a fly over, they’ll count as many as 150 deer in just one hour. There is so much deer 💩 on everyone’s lawn that they have to rake it up on the regular. During rutting season they warn people not to take their dogs on walks unless they’re kept on a tight leash because the bucks have actually killed them. And then, of course, you’ve got tons of idiots that feed them. Also, never feel pressured to put out a video. We know it gets even more difficult when the weather turns. It’ll just make us appreciate the ones you put out even more. ❤️be good to yourself.

Anyway…. 😁…. deer here don’t look that big until one runs past you 🤣 blinkin’ things are huge 😂 One ran out in front of me once when I was filming infra red in the pitch black woodland …. almost needed a change of underwear 🤣🤣 So many deer can of course be dangerous not only for dogs… don’t they have a cull? or is it left to licenced individuals to fill their freezers lol. Either way just make sure you stay safe because those animals (like moose)🫎 can be dangerous 😳🦌🇨🇦🇬🇧🤗❤️

Greetings from Canada Ray. 🍁 Vindolanda Roman Fort and museum looks like a great place to explore. How fortuitous that the waterlogged soil has kept almost 2K yrs of history perfectly preserved. Amazing that you can volunteer for archaeological digs at the site. Had no idea that was even a thing. Very cool. Thanks for including the link to the Vindolanda Tablets. I think we often tend to view people of the past as being very different from ourselves, or possibly less “civilized.” Interesting to see that they concerned themselves with many of the same day to day, minute issues as ourselves. Not so different after all. The building (mausoleum?) at the graveyard is stunning. Both the museum and the Roman site look quite big. It must have taken you a good while to get through it all. As always, I appreciate these brief “time travels” into the past, as well as a glimpse of my beautiful England. Such a treat. Hope your weather has returned to more normal temperatures. I suspect that good English blood’s not used to such hot days lol.😂 Gotta say, I almost froze to death the summer I was over there. It wasn’t so much the lower temperature, but, I couldn’t get used to my clothes and bedding always feeling damp. On the upside, the climate does provide for that lush, breathtaking, green landscape that I love so much. Thanks for another wonderful video Ray! Appreciate you. Take care and bye for now. ❤️🇨🇦🇬🇧👋🤗🌞😎

Hiya Jill 😃👋🤗 you are definitely right about the soil, it certainly doesn’t look or feel wet on top but I’m guessing it’s the consistency that holds the moisture 🤷‍♂️ I have thought a few times about volunteering but not sure my knees or hips could handle it for any length of time, I’d probably need to find a Roman hoist to get me back on my feet 🤣🤣🤣 Those tablets were such an amazing find and in fact I’m sure they will find more at some point. They certainly provide an insight into Roman day to day life. I find the whole sight very interesting, you can easily spend hours in the museum, those shelves of Roman footwear are amazing, like a mini Footlocker 🤣😂 the weather is pretty much back to “normal” now around 20-21c in this area with showers, good for all that greenery I guess 😁 🌳 🌲 I think if my clothes and bedding felt damp I’d be quite concerned too 🤣 thankfully I’ve never experienced that (yet) 🤣😂🤣 Glad you enjoyed this brief look around Vindolanda, one of the many Roman landmarks around here and certainly one of the largest. It is actually a “privately run” site, The Vindolanda Trust, which I’ve always found strange considering they are normally in the hands of either the National Trust or English Heritage. It is a charitable trust but it’s not cheap getting in 🤣 Until next time, take care and look after yourself 🤗❤️🙏🏻🇨🇦🇬🇧

Helloooo yourself Ray!! lol 😂 Greetings from Canada 🍁. I can’t imagine choosing to live the type of life that Godric chose for himself. I wouldn’t think there’d be much joy in that. But I suppose choices were limited in those days. He did settle there for 60yrs, so it must have brought him some kind of peace and contentment. He definitely picked an incredibly gorgeous spot though. This place is fantastic!! For me personally, there’s something very moving seeing these places that held such a religious significance, standing in ruins hundreds of years later, roofless and open to the heavens above. Almost as if they’re still paying homage to “the man” himself. I’ve come to recognize and love the piece of music you often use (@10:57-@14:20). My absolute favourite. And, as usual, your signature drone footage ties everything together nicely, showcasing each site. SIDE NOTE: I absolutely despise people who litter. Its totally unnecessary. I always wonder, if they have such disregard for this gift of our beautiful planet, what other areas of their life are they lacking in? Ty Ray. Thoroughly enjoyed Finchale Priory and always appreciate your effort. Hope you’re keeping well. Take care and bye for now. ❤️🇨🇦🇬🇧🤗👋😊

Hahaha hiya Jill 🤣🤗 sometimes it’s just incomprehensible how people chose to live their lives during those times but I guess it was his way of being totally dedicated to his beliefs. I love that song too, it’s called Shadow Whispers, Alex is such an amazing writer and very underrated. The Priory really is a special place to visit sadly the first time I visited there was a number of drink cans and discarded packaging strewn around the site, very disrespectful in my opinion. There seems to be less and less respect for this planet now, it won’t affect you or I but future generations will wonder why they did it. I’m glad as always that you enjoyed this visit, your comments always give me a “lift”. I hope all is well with you and the weather is now calmed down. Greetings from Canada Ray. 🍁 Another beautiful site with an amazing history. Can’t beat that drone footage. The overview brings everything into perspective, both the settlement itself and the landscape that surrounds it. Thanks as always and take care of yourself til next time. ❤🇨🇦🇬🇧👋🤗

Hi Jill 👋😃 I had to be a bit sneaky with the drone 🤣 Why they don’t normally allow them is beyond my comprehension but where there’s a will there’s a way 🤣 it never bothered anyone. Glad you enjoyed the tour. Hope all is well, you seem to be getting extremes of weather there 🙏🏻🤗❤️🇨🇦🇬🇧

@@Raybo1uk where I am on the prairies it’s been fluctuating between lots of rain and scalding hot days of 35-40C with the humidity. Lots of varied weather across this large country. Some are dealing with flooding and others (east and west coast) fires and evacuations of entire towns. Hopefully you’re having drier weather after your fair share of flooding last year. It can always be worse.

hi Jill, the weather now can be so unpredictable with extremes of rain or heat and undoubtedly it will only get worse as the planet heats up and the atmosphere thins. we better get our astronaut suits ready 😂🤣👨‍🚀🚀

Hi Yvonne, there are hundreds of Bastle houses in the area but a lot are in private ground or attached to farms etc so not always possible to get to them but this one is in a beautiful spot. Glad you enjoyed the video , thank you 🙏🏻 🤗❤️

Hiya CA👋🤗 yes lots of History here, a break in the rain got me out 🤣⛈️ we have had so much rain. This place is only a relatively shortish walk from Sycamore gap (around 2 miles away) and about 2.5 miles from Vindolanda which is another day out. Glad you enjoyed the wander and footage, all very interesting places with, I’m sure, so many stories to tell. I hope you are taking care in the heat 🙏🏻🤗❤️🐈‍⬛

Wow Ray that was amazing, I just used your link and downloaded the plan, it was so interesting ! I can see why it is one of the best known from the Roman Empire, you can really see the size of our as you walked around it. Fabulous footage especially with the drone so we could see the size of it. I loved this one, would be great to visit ~ Anna 👏👍

Hi Anna 😃👋 thank you so much ☺️ I’m glad you enjoyed this video. There were lots of visitors from overseas (USA/Canada, Norway etc) it’s a fantastic place to visit, lots of walkers and the orange back packers I think we’re doing the Prince’s Trust programme. Amazing views from the top… those Romans were definitely fit 🤣🤣🥵 You should definitely add it to your bucket list, it’s not far from Vindolanda as well which is still being excavated and also a fantastic place to visit. Maybe my next visit too 😁 Hope you and Alf are both well, take care 👍🏻🤗
