Remember this series Started off with a Real Bang then slowly after Mork gave birth the popularity got weird and Comedy wise weak compared to early seasons. Robins ad-lips were always the highlights. The LAST show showed Mork and Mindy flying thru space uncertain on what happens next...then Nothing! The series storyline was Never resolved when the series got Cancelled. Enjoy your viewpoints to one of my Favorite comedy series-Robin Williams was a Force of Nature in Comedy. Sorely missed! Na Noo Na Noo RS!

This episode contains a few of the best seconds in TV writing history. It's easy to see Xerko saying that he 'has humility and now has everything' as a funny contradictory statement, but there is more to consider. Not only finding a learning moment in a defeat but then seeing yourself as a more complete person for having lost, then having some kind of satisfaction in that realization in gaining from loss, is a discovery that seemingly few humans will make. Finding a certain conceit in a defeat is an unusual notion and somewhat fascinating.

My favorite M&M episode. Even more of a tour de force for Robin Williams than usual. Great that my favorite scene was shown here: Mork throwing the Steve Martin figure aside with the "EXCUUUUUUSE MEEEEEEEEEEE!" Steve and Robin are similar of the wild 'n' crazy comedians, by then I was a big fan of them (though Steve is more thought-out comic insanity, and Robin improvisational), so I loved the juxtaposition.

It really is a wonderful episode. And that shove of the Steve Martin figure is one of the most memorable moments. Thanks for commenting!

I like the part with Exador~ & the Australian reference to Erol Flynn .. as the rumours of him having 3 new partners a night .. well.. suddenly ,, we got a late night gossip show ... ah ,, well australia had a 20 year imbargo on Errol Flynn,,,. oh,, & the Benji joke ,, so on time as this ep.. aired 1984 ,, Benji the Hunted was 4th movie,, for 1984...

Here is interesting aussie issue ,,.. so. ... his n our tv syndication lined up with 10 October 1984 airdate to match Ro illiams new movie ~ Moscow on the Hudson,, robins acting of getting mugged.. oh , i cried so much..,, it was also first movie for a n aussie movie review show that ran for 40 years ..,, actually as the hosts took over the austraian review board over the whole robin williams bann,. well.. they got a more representative 20 age group to 40 range & up.. the censorship group.. all fixed in 1984,,. robin was back for good after this episode

Johnathan Winters... used to go to australia alot . i think its why Robin actually flew the whole 24 hours to get here .. this style of humar .. is what australians liked .. the Jonathan as senior ,,.. Robin as admirer,,

The Opie part is my favorite part of the episode... and a part edited out of the syndicated version, sadly. Great to have it brought up here.

I highly recommend getting the DVDs. There are still some music-rights edits, but it's probably as close as we're going to get to the original versions for the time being.

Well,,. i gotta say,, after australian censors stopped Mork & Mindy ~ i recall the bann lifted 1984 .. same time HappyDays ended ,, but syndication ment we saw final Happy Days. 1986 ,, i still wonder ,,. the aussie censors only allowed episodes where mork was childish & innocent,,.. Interesting thing about Bosom Buddies ,,~ we always had two show ~ 1 hour deals .. Cheers & Fraiser .. .. then Perfect Strangers with Bosom Buddies ,,.. even our censors kept Victor /Victoria back for two months,. &Yentl ~ we had critical sensors .. ah,, what a time.. i checked the restriked list ,.. sometimes they had movies on a 2 month review to wait & see international audience reaction.. Yentl was just performed in Melbourne Theatre ,, as Barbara Streisand owned rights ,, the play version ,, way different,,..

At first i have to say ,, the main reason we watch full tv shows now .. is we had oppressive rulrz who thought tv was evil & we would be zombies & mind controlled ,, delinquency ,, lol.. no wonder i watched20 hours of tv , a day,, ,, this episode was banned ,, we had religious far right .control tv.. even happy days edited ,, ,, but in November 1983 our aussie swingers party got in and ~we saw even banned shows ~ Sweden even banned this episode ,,.. lol,.. this was on after 9:30pm ~ oh Club Med was banned from operating in australia , till 1990..the swingers party voted to revoke the bann....club med had boat terminal & hotels in my home town plux the religious bann on coodoms lifted by 1990.. ah all the far right angry about ,, in their words .. condoms washing up on shore ,, lol.. australia so backward til internet.. so.. my town is where Bluey cartoon is from, & american far right bann some episodes ,,, so. mork time.. because of words like swingers . concepts of multiple partners ,,.. caccooning,, haha~ aussie tv ,, from 1996~ 2006 far right was even editing ~ the Simpsons , when swinger concepts happened ,, i know ,,now .. as we researched it as soon as youtube showed uncensored shows ,, so as this was after dark & 9 30pm ,,i was young ,, i fell asleep,, yet didnt know tv censhorship til 2007 when the dvd series revealed most episodes were 22 minutes ,, i comparedo recordings of 20~ 21 minutes ,, & realised how tv was edited so much,,, that scene with Mindy & Stan got cut in most syndications ,, so its actually first time i saw it.. oh ,, the Edith Bunker gag was about ,, the shows being rivals on same timeslot , an ABC , NBC ~ CBS ,,joke.. which in australia ,,is not an issue ,, as British tv shows got replaced in 1976 with all american prime time all in one decade ... actualy Archie Bunker was on 10am in australia ,, All in the Family played til 1996 ,, paired with ~i love Lucy ... ABC joke now is ,, now in 2024 some ABC american sitcoms are to never stream online ever,,. like Rosanne ,, Scrubs .. 30 Rock,. i never realised ABC america was sued by Monty Python , for editing out ~~ offensive scences ~ in 1976 and won ,, but after 1989 well. America saw all the episodes ,,..i can say .. this Mork & Mindy ep, sure was a game changer ,, & here we are 50 years later .. on youtube wondering ,, was censurship worth banning art .. to make society married to the state til an alien tv show makes us feel alive for 24 minutes ,, or 20..lolzz

Iwatch so many tv show reviews , that this one played as soon as you posted it.. ~so ,, as we got this in 1982 ,, the syndication re ~arranged the order ,, so this one was shown on aussie tv after Merth was born with real last episode being played too ,, the Mork & Mindy cartoon was promoted with a Mork ice cream,, it tasted like bubblegum,,, . so we did have real american icecream,, it was in strawberry & Apricot flavour , called Mork Food , it wad yoghurt ,, so was first time tasting yoghurt ,, i still think of mork when i eat yogurt

This episode was always the last one for australian ,mork & mindy time slot , we had from 1975 to 1996 , an in station announcer voice over the end credits of 3pm till 8pm movie .. about 1981 ,,.. mork & mindy was winter time show .. the annoucer at the end of this episode would call it the final season episode ,, and then Happy Days would reset the next day , in summer mode ,, sometimes the announcer sounded sad ,, like all finals .,, i always cried ,.. especially when Robin gave the talk about celebrity life ,,.. its the first show i recall i watched every episode ,, even when mork came back 2003 , even Happy days , lavern & shirley til 2012,,.. replaced by new sitcoms ,,, well,, none compare to mork,

In an aussie perspective ,, the 1979 ronald reagan nomination , got more airtime , mostly because Aust tv was exact USA copy,, all we saw til the reagan swearing in ,, was all about reagan,, ,,, also the reagan starwars satelittes ~australian tv connection got us alot more live interviews , also popeye & VCR repeat watching ~it was my fav movie ,, though , popeye was on disney sunday nights ,,each 3 months..

About ,, those ~ phone ~in pre~recorded movie times ,, i would listen to the automated times alot ,, USA stopped automated phone services ,2014 ,, while Australia ,, we had it still going til 2019.. of course , with no movies 2020,, movie thearters were in basements ,, about 7 theaters closed cos of aussie high rainfall, bad drainage ,, 50 year old malls,, plus the city councils realised they oincreased water pressure so pipes rubtured ... well we all learn,, lol my fav call was listening to the last time the automated time calll.. september 30 ,, 2019 at midnight ...

Each time i watch season 2, 3,, i have to go re~research,, & recall , australian censors took alot out ,, also out of sequence season 3 was played when robin williams was in australia,, also the receal welsh episode had 2 minutes edited ,, they wanted mork as a family show.. a few times we could tell if parents complained as the episode ended 15 minutes in , no talk to Orson~~ immidediate news break, lol, happened alot ,, so the actual robin williams as himself was on same night robin hosted an aussie tv award ,, ,then 3 years later , in 1982 ,with us year 8 kids reading ,the World according to Garp.. ~july hype to december release ,, so i saw the movie in 1983 ,, & they replayed all mork&mindy each 3 years , usually with Benson,, one hour comedy before current newshour ,,

Interesting that the censors took out so much. In the U.S. it's more likely to be music-rights issues, or shows just cut for time to fit more commercials in. That's cool that RW came to Australia for movie promotion.

I keep referring to how australia didnt have these ads til 1995 ,, when the concept of24 hour tv started here ,, plus we had one form of milk, so lactose free & skim milk got here in 1995 too. its funny ,,as all the jokes still made sence to australians ,, we knew all brand names,, kpok,, was also in beds in australia,, we had aussie chicken tonight too.. fun fact , aussie channel9~ also copied the ~ still the one ad,, its on youtube too as abc was 25% share too, we watched American Today show ,,too, til we had an aussie version

I used to watch your reviews and go rush off to watch the shows you mentioned , in the USA 7pm timeslot.. as we had 3 usa sitcom free to air staons the channel 7aussie channel was 25% NBC / DISNEY afternoon cartoons .. now aussie channel 9 was the 25% CBS version station with 9am , bob Newheart Soap , Golderngirls we had midday chat / celebrity gossip , then more sitcoms 2pm ,i love lucy , happy days ,, lavern & shirley ,, mork & mindy ,, as my parents were separating , this episode effected me the most.. as it was two parts i saw this part with mum,, and ,it reminded me when i first had the flu & took headache tablets plus the being home alone part , so emotional.. hearing this podcast each time i am sick is still fun as lockdown & flu brings all those 1979 memories back ,, thank you
