Answer- I’m not really sure why you have a bias against it, AliExpress is literally the same but larger than Amazon and have a lot of the same buyer protections policies. As a matter of fact, the vast majority of products sold on Amazon that aren’t big cooperate name brands come from alibaba/AliExpress. I buy stuff on there constantly, and the few times I’ve had issues, I got a refund. Is there junk on there, sure, just like Amazon, but that’s why you do your due diligence and find people vouching for the product. If you don’t trust my judgement, that’s fine, you have the option to buy it somewhere else at an inflated price, but I am willing to bet 9/10 times, the people you are buying it from bought it from Alibaba/AliExpress 🤷‍♂️ Why do you distrust ‘Ali’?

It’s definitely less sensitive with the carbon fiber one, probably to the point where you wouldn’t bother to use it, though it’s a gimmicky feature anyway imo

Yeah, I do think I would have enjoyed it a lot more had I gotten a manual, the dct was fun at first but got old fast. I did get bored of the STI pretty fast and have since picked up a manual ‘10 e60 535i m-sport, much more what I was looking for, n-54 isn’t an m engine but easy to make a beast and fairly reliable if you keep up with it.

Yeah that’s what I said basically, no? It’s pretty boring for normal every day driving with your kids in the car type of driving. When you get on it or at high speeds it shines/could be scary, but I’m not driving around in the streets like that. The STI still didn’t give me that driving satisfaction I expected like I got from the e46 M3 though. Haven’t had time to make the video about it but I sold the STI and got an ‘10 e60 535i, not quite there but much closer and a lot more fun to drive than the STI.

No, no rattle, I’m pretty sure all the wires smashed in back there hold it still. There was three plugs that were color coded orange, green and white, then there was one or two ~20 pin connectors. Everything in there is keyed to only fit into one spot, on the head unit and star link so there’s no way you can plug it in the wrong place, if it fits in the connector, it belongs there.

Not sure about XM, you could ask the seller I linked, but it’s an android unit so whatever apps you can get from the Google play store would be available on the unit, including Netflix.

There’s a square plug at the end of the USB port in the center console that plugs into the back of the oem unit, the adapter adapts that square connector to a regular rectangular usb connector that you’ll be able to plug into the usb cable coming from the android unit.

I believe it does, the seller I linked does have a note in the description though that says to contact them before ordering if you have a Harmon kardon system, they will prob have to send you something extra or a different harness I assume.

Upcoming video: I traded my 2018 STI for a e60 535i 🤣 It really depends what you're looking for. If you actually like driving and being engaged in the driving experience, probably got for the STI. If you like a car that gives you little feedback, has a numbing driving experience but goes fast, handles well and looks awesome, go for the f8x. I liked the STI better than the M4, but the STI just wasn't doing it for me. My e46 M3 really just completely changed my prospective of what I expect out of a driving experience. The e60 535 is definitely closer to that than the STI, the e9x probably even more so, as people say its a bit more nimble and weight like 200 lbs less, but I wanted the larger sedan for the family friendliness.

It’s durable, vivid is one of the best films on the market, they have all kinds of tinted type films and clears and cool pattern inlays and such, def worth it for the lens protection if anything.

No, but mufflers aren’t always installed perfectly from factory, you can try loosening the bolts where the muffler mates to the rest of the exhaust and adjust the tips down more on the hangers.

Yeah it’s a shame they are drifting away from their core audience, but that’s the way large cooperations work like you said, follow the money. That’s a rough call but I think the 2022s are supposed to drop at the end of the year so I’d wait and see. I think its speculated that to be running an 2.5 FA engine significantly more powered than the current gen, which could be great. I guess I’d be worried about the driver experience, like if they added all kinds of electronic assist bs, would def test drive one before making that decision. It’s prob going to have equal length headers too. You’d be waiting a bit for aftermarket stuff too while all the typical companies tear it down and design parts for it. Then there’s also the fear of buying the first run of a platform before they work out all the unforeseen issues. Honestly the only thing that would get me to upgrade is if they have a hatch, besides that I’m happy with my 18. If you’re itching for an STI that bad, screw it and go for the 19, you can always sell it at not that big a loss and get a newer one. 19s have upgraded pistons in the ej, I’ve read mixed opinions about the actual effectiveness but it’s a good resale point.
