Wax moth don't touch white wax honey frames so they don't need to be stored in bins. They go for brood frames with leftover pollen in the cells. Pollen is larva food.

One thing is if there's one weed that gets the wood the ants will find it and the problem will start all over again... I find that if black plastic covers the ground all around the hive stand and fine gravel on the plastic no grass can grow near your hive stand.. because I had the same problem

@@surferay6969 I live up North and going start beekeeping this Spring. So excited. Trying to get my hands on some. Learning this is an important tool. Any suggests on how to get your hives to work the combs just to build a surplus? I know I have to start with what I have and would prefer drawn comb over honey the first few months or year. Did that make sense?

Actually the way we did it the tree never hit the ground it was hanging From two wrote one up above and one just above the cut then we use the lower one to pull it on the other side of the fence and just gently laid it down.

I just saw this video on your channel. Seems we both make use of what's available to make hives. If you want to get crazy make frames out of scrap 2x4. I haven't made screened bottom boards yet but plan to. My list of scrap to parts so far is frames, solid bottoms, tops, inner covers, nucs and swarm traps. Oh yeah double screen boards.
@surferay69693 жыл бұрын
Yeah it does sound pretty crazy but if you get the time why not make the wine!
