Regarding chunks of carbon breaking off and blocking oil passages. Unless you never change your oil anything is possible. If you change your oil/filter at the recommended intervals then I wouldn’t worry about it. I’ve used BG products several times on my 19 70 LT-1 350/360hp Camaro Z/28 without any issues. I haven’t lately because it’s too expensive and I can only find it on eBay. I’ve also seen it on Amazon but it’s not cheap. I’m currently looking at other ways to flush my engine.

Is there a chance the bg will break off junk and plug up small passages and destroy an engine?

7:12 i just did EPR, i used a stick (between seat and gas pedal) to set 1300rpm. Guess what, it raised the compression and cleaned it so much that rpm went to 1700rpm!!! I was like wow ❤.. dyno showed very slight improvement (254nm after, 249nm before, 1.0l tsi chipped from 200nm)

The original transmission fluid looked like CVT fluid since it had a greenish color. You said it was a manual and the new fluid color looked like ATF red. Just wondering what the difference was?
@group2automotive
@group2automotive 10 ай бұрын
The transmission fluid was yellowish. The new fluid pumped in to the transmission is a clearish color, you can see it as it dribbles off of the transmission. The redness you see in the pumping tubing is a reflection of all the red surfaces around us at the time, including our red rags. Yes the transmission was a manual transmission. In the end the drain and fill was replacing the current (same) fluid with new fluid.

Don't let is particularily sway your decision! Knowing the background of the vehicle is the best to determine whether to purchase or not. We've seen some vehicles that are 120K miles and still haven't had the VANOS rebuilt, with no signs of issues.

@group2automotive

Hi Rick, it is recommendations can vary depending on how and how much the vehicle is driven. A good rule of thumb though would be annually or every 7,500-10,000 miles (depending on driving conditions).

does the air induction service help with GDI carbon build up ?
@group2automotive

BG makes a different tool that connects through the PCV valve on the intake to clean GDI engines. It looks very similar to the BG Via tool used in this video. Except it doesn't use shop air to build pressure. It's gravity fed, and the tool itself has see through fiberglass sides so you know when it's done with the service.
