Thank you for sharing this lovely interview with Kelly and being a respectful moderator! I had the honor of attending her book event in NYC with Lauren! Also loved the shout-out to the Watchful Eye, it was an excellent show that was gone too soon.

She really was a delight! Glad you enjoyed the interview! 😊 And I couldn't help but give a nod to the interview with Lauren Graham. Seeing them together again and having an interview with someone who actually KNOWS the person.😉Not to mention the electricity in that room. I knew every Kelly fan should watch it.

I was surprised that they didn’t particularly talk about Ms. Bishop’s several appearances on Mrs. Maisel. She was, of course, terrific. Particularly in the last of her episodes, where she and Alex Boorstein went head-to-head in a verbal battle of the tough broads that was delightful.

Oh I could have talked to her much longer, but she had a few of these scheduled each day this week and I was trying to be respectful of her time. She was an absolute delight and I'm grateful she took the time out to talk to me. Her performance alone has me hooked on The Watchful Eye.

What Moves the Dead - would you recommend I read the Fall of the House of Usher BEFORE reading Kingfisher's novel?
@gryftkin29 күн бұрын
You don't have to. Ursula (T Kingfisher) goes much more in depth and a bit of a different direction. They are two different stories. What Moves the Dead is much more of a typical gothic horror while Poe's is almost a psychological nightmare. But I definitely plan on watching the miniseries. I've heard good things.

It's gothic horror. It's not slasher horror or gorror (as I like to call horror that is all about dismemberment and disembowelment :P). But if horror is not your thing, I won't push it. For those who do like Poe (The Telltale Heart, The Pit and the Pendulum, etc.) this book was really good. :)

@@gryftkin finally bought it last time i was at Target, and read through a few chapters. So far decent writing. Imaginative, good character insights, and the ability to use common, approachable vernacular to the fullest extent and in a creative fashion. Feels like a professional writer; like they have 40+ hours per week to really get into the details that an aspiring writing would not. Haven't gotten to the part where Keats gets sucked into the fairy world but getting close. The front of the book comes with a map of the fantasy world (Elphame).
