The first thing she is doing is increasing the exhalation action. This first increases the air PRESSURE inside the body including in the oral space. This results in more air flow AND more air flow velocity throughout the system IF the flow resistance of the system is constant. Obviously pressure, flow and flow velocity vary with dynamics as well even on a constant pitch. Higher tones do require a bit more air pressure and less air flow in general. But the lip posture controls the pitch, the flow velocity of the air is irrelevant to pitch and obviously changes with dynamics on a constant pitch.

Good work! Speaking about embouchure, my embouchure type is a frown. Unfortunately, it's jeopardized my playing. Can you help, please?

My question so I can understand what it means. With faster air you can play higher or louder? Greets from the Netherlands

The lip posture controls pitch. Air effort controls dynamics.

I just got my braces off and it’s been negatively affecting my playing. My high notes in particular have been super flat and the rest of the tuning is off. Do you have any advice for how to adjust after getting braces off? It’s been four years since I got them on, so maybe I just need an adjustment issue, but I’m definitely concerned with how off the intonation is with my braceless embouchure….
