Hey, I was scrolling through the comments while listening to this and I came across yours... when you said "I haven't even played it", it reminded me of myself back at the beginning of this year. My friend, who's a big fan of Silent Hill, introduced me to the Silent Hill 2 soundtrack back at the beginning of the year, and I fell in love with tracks like Black Fairy, Forest, Restless Dreams, and especially this one, Day of Night. I was absolutely swept away by the music and stunned at how this was all part of the soundtrack of a horror game. I had never played a Silent Hill game before. About a month ago, I finally decided to take the dive and play Silent Hill 2 (the original, not the remake). I played the PC version with the Enhanced Edition mod. I just finished the game a few weeks ago, and I cannot stop thinking about it, I am absolutely obsessed with it now. When I come back and listen to these tracks again, they still feel dreamy and peaceful, but there is now also a profound sense of melancholy, tragedy, and sadness that pervades them. It adds even more depth to the music. If you haven't yet played Silent Hill 2, I strongly recommend that you give it a try, and I'm saying this as a newcomer to the franchise. Keep in mind that I have no nostalgic attachment or bias towards the game/franchise whatsoever, and yet I think that this game, released all the way back in 2001, is an absolute masterpiece of psychological horror, atmosphere, and deeply compelling and emotionally-gripping storytelling. And the fact that I'm only getting around to playing it 23 years after its release and making that kind of verdict about the game, is a true testament to its quality. I plan on playing the remake that released back in October and I'm very excited to give that version a try, but definitely play the original first if you can. I am very glad I went with playing the original first. If you have a half-decent PC, play the PC version of the original with the Enhanced Edition mod installed. It fixes tons of bugs and issues, adds tons of quality of life improvements, and just makes it such a solid experience overall. Arguably the best way to play the game on PC. Otherwise you could install the PS2 emulator, PCSX2, and play the PS2 version of the game (specifically the Greatest Hits version for the added content in that version). Don't touch the godforsaken HD Collection or whatever it's called, that thing is a travesty and a hate crime. lol. Sorry for the long-winded comment, I just thought I would share my experience with you as somebody who up until very recently, only listened to the music without having played the game. I can confirm that the game is well worth your time. Now when I come back and listen to the music, I'm constantly fighting back tears thinking about the story, and I have NEVER had a game affect me in such a strong way like that. It's so tragic and otherworldly beautiful.

Silent hill 4 and silent hill 2 pictures with Silent hill 2 music.

Is this in the game? Don't say any spoilers, but I listen to SH2 tracks every day - does the game respectfully keep the "tone" the first game introduced with this music. I heard he "re-imagined" a lot of the tracks, which put me off :) Thanks dude.

@@megmucklebones7538 a few songs from the original are in the game and some of them are just a little bit changed but this one is in the game too!
