Half the mechanics in the game do not work or have so little impact that they are ignored. The community that played this and made their own content is the only thing that kept this going. Now even the "old" guard fanboys are sick and tired of Frontiers Bullshit.

At 1.9 bil ISK, this ship is not a short term project for a new player. What "ship path" would you recommend to get there. My main source of ISK are missions and I am working on T6 and T7 so far with my Vexor. But once i unlock tech 8 I'll probably need to change farming ship...i initially considered the Dominix for the super long range of drones (safe kiting). But your approach seem much faster farm. And you can run T10 with the normal Apoc? Kinda scary to rush in a group of ship where you'll likely be warp jammed...

Lesson learned 😊 Scan before you blam! And if you ever find yourself far away from your ship, go by foot and find the Apex shuttle service and book a flight to wherever your ship is. It will cost some credits, but not too much. A quick guide to the radar: The circle that you see when looking at the radar is the plane you are at right now. Think of it as the horizon if you were standing on the ground. The lines either above or below each contact shows you if it is above or below this plane. It connects the contact with the plane, so a line below the contact means the target is above you, and vice versa. (Baloons float up, anchors sink) Small squares are other objects out there, ships, containers, wake echoes and so on. A filled in square is an NPC, a hollow one is another player. When a ship deploys hardpoints it turns from a square to a triangle pointing upwards. A triangle pointing down is a station. Different colors indicate their standing towards you, green is an ally, red is an enemy, orange is everybody else. If a contact is blinking red and white it is attacking you. White ones are everything that is not a ship or station, like a container, limpet, wake echo or missile. There you go. Now go splash some more pirates. 😊
@Bapzi3 ай бұрын
Haha yeah, the scan is top priority now! Wow that’s an awesome description! I will have to read it more than once probably :-). Thank you for that, it was a lot more to the radar than I thought! There will be plenty of more pirate splashing in the future. Have an awesome day!

@@BapziI forgot one important thing. Your current target is marked with <> on the radar. And.. If you ever find yourself with a bounty on your head again, disengage, fly away, go into supercruise and pull up the galaxy map. Look for a independant system and go to a station there. You can pay off your fines there (when landed) and the bounty will be withdrawn.

New commander here. Commanders with obsessive compulsive disorder should avoid exploration - it has proven impossible to avoid doing a full FSS scan of every system. If my OCD was worse, then doing full planetary mapping and first footfall would have been unavoidable. My pet peeve right now is commanders who dont do a full FSS - I hate jumping into a system which is only partially scanned.

Yep, you got a little too close to the star. Those Y-class stars are almost like traps, the point where you get pulled out is a lot further away than with brighter stars. Equipping and using a heat sink will help you avoid damage due to overheating at such times. (it'll also make a hostile ship loose its lock on you). I suggest checking out the exploration tools in the game, charting star systems and mapping planets can be a low-risk way to earn money early on!

Even though I have like 5 different exploration ships, my DBX is what ferries me around the bubble. Not my favorite for long trips, but it makes an _amazing_ taxi with that huge fuel tank. Here's a tip for future engineering: when working on the power plant for an exploration ship, use the Armored blueprint or the Low Emissions blueprint. They both reduce the heat generated by your ship, meaning you can scoop faster and longer without melting yourself. Armored makes the powerplant heavier but also increases the power it makes by a bit, while Low Emissions has less of a weight impact and runs much cooler, but _reduces_ the power output.
@Bapzi3 ай бұрын
Seems like I did a good choice with the DBX :-). That sounds like a really good tip, I’ll definitely look into that aswell! Being able to scope for longer without burning up is usually a good thing :).

And also, you can start your combat career by going to a resource extraction site, look for the police (system defence) and follow them around a bit. When they start shooting at someone, scan that ship (important) and then fire a few shots at it as well. As long as you are not that pirates greatest threat, it won't go after you. Practice flying and aiming and power management and everything you want. As long as you have landed a few hits on the pirate, you will earn a bounty for it when the police blow it up. Practice AND payment, talk about a win-win!

You got to close to the brown dwarf star and dropped out of supercruise which is why you started to overheat. The first time that happened to me my hull was down to 3% before I was able to reenter supercruise. LOL By the way the options on the game allow you to custom configure controls for docking if you need to. The hardest part about docking for me was trying to memorize where the landing pads in the large stations are at as the compass is inadequate when the landing pads are close to the entry port which most people in game call the mail slot. If you use your 70% thrust key when your approach time drops to 7 seconds you will not over shoot the station and do a loop of shame. If you use your 50% thrust key when your distance to a planet drops under 1Ls you will not get pulled out of supercruise on planetary approaches unless you are heading straight down on a high G planet.

From the title, I thought you were a returning player and when you said 1.5 hours I thought... "Is that all??" But hey, for day one that ain't bad! You were using your power distributor pips 10 hours before I figured out what they did. Docking gets much easier as you learn. It's faster and safer to do it yourself rather than trust in the computer - at least for small to medium size ships. Don't worry about money too much. Just take the setting all in and learn at your own pace, the money will come by itself. It's extremely easy to make hundreds of millions per hour if you need to and you have the right ship for it - but there's not much to spend all that on except more ships. Many players fall into the trap of looking up the quickest way to get into the biggest ship and find they have no idea what to do with it once they get there.

Enjoyed your video, I forget what it's like to see Elite through fresh eyes. The thin fuel bar is your Active Fuel Reservoir. This active reservoir provides fuel to your power plant which in turn feeds you modules eg thrusters, life support, shields etc. (ie the more you have turned on the quicker the active reservoir empties). When the active fuel reservoir runs out it is replenished from the main fuel tanks. The main fuel tanks can be filled using your fuel scoop, the active reservoir cannot. Each ship has a specific size of active reservoir. I once discovered that the DBX has 0.5t from a table I'd found, but I cannot find it now, sorry. The bigger the ship the bigger active fuel reservoir though. TL;DR Don't panic

One important thing to note is that the FSD is the only other thing, apart from active reservoir, that draws fuel from the main tank. The FSD can not use the fuel in the active reservoir, so if the reservoir is running low and your main tank is nearly empty, jump before the fuel is moved to the active tank. And preferably, jump to a OBAFGKM-star system ;)
@Bapzi3 ай бұрын

When you look at your planned route on the star map you'll see a solid bar and sometimes (for a very long trip) a hashed or broken bar - the solid bar shows how dar your fuel will take you ie refuel somewhere before you get to the broken bar. If you get worried check your filter for Fleet Carriers - you can refuel on them too. O7 Commander

I cant tell if you are intentionally making it hard to dock or not but you are making it way too complicated. Once in the blue just land the thing. Hovering over the landing pad in the blue does nothing because you are supposed to land!

I’ll take note of that, “just land” ;). I really don’t want my ship to break, so I guess I’m just being extra careful right now.

@@Bapzi aw now that you hearted my comment I feel bad for sounding aggressive lol. Sorry I forget how hard it was in the beginning. But yea shields will cover you. Once you start fighting thargoids and going shieldless than I'd be more concerned. I hope you continue to play elite and join the community. I'm always around if you are looking for a wing and our squad trains newbies too. Otherwise if you forget your fuel scoop just dont forget about the fuel rats! Dont forget to bring your limpets! If you ever get to that stage

@Nites2k haha it’s fine, i did not get offended :-). It sure is a lot to take in when it comes to Elite Dangerous, but I’ll get there one day! Cheers, I might take you up on that one day :-)

You were facing the wrong way on the first attempt. We've all done that at the start ... (The pad number floating in the air is where the nose of the ship goes) @@Bapzi

Good to see a new CMDR in the Galaxy! AXI Mentor here to give a quick few tips In the galaxy map, you can set up filters based on star class, and thus only select fuel stars you can scoop from. Make sure to select the star classed of OBAFGKM, and ensure to select the option to use filter on route Another big tip is to avoid the current Thargoid war area, where we are fighting against an alien species around the edges of the bubble. These can be seen on the galmap by the grey X icons, red skulls icons, orange fire symbols, etc. There's also a filter for them to more easily see them as they will appear green, red, purple, orange, and yellow o7 CMDR

Awesome! Thanks for the tips! I will do my best to avoid the thargoids for now :-)
