Juan Madera I have AVIC-7000NEX and note 5 at&t not root, any Samsung phone galaxy s6 and up will work fine with USB setup on the HU, you also need an app Car from HTC phone dl here www.apkmirror.com/apk/htc-corporation/car/car-7-10-612716-release/

Juan Madera yes you can use note 8, and usb type C. The apps I used in the video is old, all you need just one app "Car" to do search it call HTC Car app, down load from the link.

Juan Madera, don't use Glympse which I had on this video this is old. Use Car app from HTC.

No I didn't have to, but later I did updated new firmware.

hello, on the second 17 i saw a little black box with a HDMI and jack input. And from your note 5 you only usa a simple cable to conecte USB in that box its a pioneer adapter??? its this one www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/Accessories/AV-Components/CD-AH200C and from that box you conect to the radio rigth?? Thanks a lot, i just bougth a new cable and dosen´t work neither.

That is my factory Subaru USB and AUX port I took it and mod it add another USB and HDMI ports. I only use for the phone.

+NightWing ok now i understood. So you conect your note 5 to the original subaru adapter and from that you conect a HDMI to the radio, iam rigth??? thanks again.

Hello, i have a Note 5 and a Pioneer AVH-8750BT and i can´t usa the mirror link, becuase i went to Samsung Store and HML 3 don´t work with this phone. Can you upload another video showing the conecction please? What adapter do you use???..its a OTG USB or micro ]USB to HDMI ?....thanks a lot

How did you run the cables from back of your radio? I just got a Pioneer SPH-DA120 App radio and it will not work b/c..according to Samsung and Pioneer (that I talked to both), said no MHL outlet on the Note 5 USB.... Thank you very much for any help

+Freddy McGhee i have the same problem, i just went to the samsung store and the MHL don´t fit on the note 5. .....what we can do???

That correct note 5 don't use MHL adapter, I am using USB cable only. You have to install HTC car app you can search it from apkmirror. From HU setup mirrorlink.

+NightWing Sorry to bother you...i have so many questions, but still do not understand as connect the note 5 to MHL. What kind of USB cable do you use???...becuase from MHL you have 3 cables, one exit to the HDMI, other for charging to USB an the one which goes to the cel and there is the problem...the USB adapter that you usewhat it is?..one again, sorry for so many questions and for my bad and rusty enlgih..i speak spanish. Thanks

Can you tell me any details on the cable your using? I keep reading that they can be phone specific and I can't seem to find one that says it supports the note 5.

I have the generic USB cable, this should work on any Note 5. I have stop using this app I am now using Car app you can fins it online the app is for HTC phone. Just use that one app will work. Let me know if you need help.

Not root, AT&T Note 5, I am using Samsung Pay not going to root, but there is no root for AT&T.
