Why would you want the roof to be black? I lived on a 50 foot homebuilt houseboat built on a steel barge hull and some dummy painted the roof black and the heat I felt radiating into my living space was palpable. When it became cool enough, towards fall, I bought the best roof paint I could afford and rolled that on my roof. The next summer it was amazing the difference inside when the sun was beating down on the roof. My advice is PAINT YOUR VAN ROOF WHITE!!!
