@@SC68170 i have heard that too. My glock 19 has a stock trigger and I plan on leaving it stock just to kind of gauge other triggers against it. Part of me wishes I kept the hinged trigger on the FN to see how it breaks in but on the other hand, I now have a super premium striker fired pistol with a premium duty trigger to also gauge against other pistols triggers.

I bought the shield plus as my first gun. After 3 years, I’ve been eye balling the g19. I want something bigger and easier to control but still small enough to conceal carry.

I would say pick one up just bc they are different. Although, maybe just a S&W M&P 2.0 would do. I’m looking at possibly picking one up just to compare to the Glock 19.

I shot my buddy’s older model m&p 2.0 chamber in 40sw. I’m not a fan of those hinge trigger. The new 2.0 with the bladed trigger looks nice.

I run a Kershaw Link as EDC, one of the US made ones. It’s a bit more sturdy than this but similar design. Kershaw makes very good knives with a very high price/quality ration.

That AAA microstream is a gateway.😂 I started on the AAA then went to the Microstream USB and am currently carrying the Macrostream USB. I like them all 3 but I prefer the Macro. It still carries well in the pocket but it’s a little bigger and fits my hand better. I am currently considering going to the Wedge XT lol. Like I said gateway. I have “nicer” lights with all the flashy modes and way more brightness levels but the Streamlights have gained my confidence and I love the simple rugged dependability in my pocket.

The nice thing is, you can pick this particular version of the shield plus up for sub 400 now bc they have released a few different versions. This is the original shield plus. If you are used to a revolver it will take some getting used to but its a solid concealed carry choice!

@lanewisdom6330 I have a 642 S&W snub revolver that I love for summer carry, but I think the Shield Plus is the right balance between, comfort, concealability,and capacity, besides that they are so accurate and dependable. Bought mine for 378.00$ out the door NIB,anything close i size and capacity is 100.00$ more, to me, it's a no brainer.

Is there difference between deactivated thumb safety (fire mode) sheild plus and without thumb safety? Hope i can establish what to have if there are no difference i would have the one with thumb safety.

You can get one with or without the manual thumb safety. If you get one with a thumb safety and then decide you dont like the safety you could carry the gun with the safety off.

If your spending 900+ for a handgun you shouldn't have to upgrade the trigger and I'm not saying it isn't nice or cool for 900+ the gun should come stock with this trigger my 328 dollar Tisas PX9 gen 3 has a better factory stock trigger than this FN 509 Tactical comes with stock and it only costed 328 bet that Apex trigger is probably 100+ putting the cost over 1000 for it with this upgraded trigger installed

I totally agree. It should have come with a nicer trigger. I got this very shortly after it was released and didn’t know much about the hinged trigger. After trying it I had to change it out. The gun is pretty sweet now. For the price it should have definitely come with an Apex quality trigger. The new FN509’s do come with a better apex style trigger now.

Thats a fair statement. I have a zigana px9 gen 1 and it has a great trigger also. Total workhorse. Trust my life with it. Never jams. Goes bang everytime u pull the trigger

@SC68170 l have a few Walthers and SIGs and quite a few budget brands l love my PX9 Canik SAR Arex Delta all so far have been absolutely wonderful my SAR B6C l got in 2007-2008 has thousands of rounds through it and still runs like a clock nothing has ever been a problem or has any thing been replaced it was 210 dollars it a polymer C-75 compact clone or copy

Those are some very valid points, but you gotta remember, you can do the same thing with a Sig P365 a Springfield Hellcat and so many others.. You can also get OEM 17 round mags for the Hellcat in the sig.

I carry a shield plus. This is a fun pistol. The barrel and sights are different. It has a cerakote, it’s a pretty standard Glock. I literally called it a Stormtrooper Blaster. Take a nap or eat something and you will feel better.

Not really any difference from me but if you are a marksman you may be able to tell. If anything the barrel is slightly longer and it will make a small difference in ballistics. If you are on the fence I would just go for it, if anything now you have the stock barrel for backup.

I have a true precision threaded barrel in my 365xl and my shield plus and I haven’t had any malfunctions. I am also interested in the y-comp. I will absolutely be buying more true barrels bc they are great! 🍻
