Question, when using as a safe room for let’s say a home invasion, what would prevent someone from putting a gun through the air vent space and shooting inside of the safe room?

How about a truck travel at hundred miles an hour slammed right into it what's going to happen are the bolts hold it down going to pull out and you go for a ride
@LibKiller Жыл бұрын
Happened in missouri, half ton truck wrapped around an above ground shelter. Diff brand but made out of the same stuff. It was anchored on concrete and took a direct hit from an ef4, it didn't go anywhere only slightly dented it.

Really speaks to how well constructed the safe room is, and how a swing out door is a poor choice, as the occupants would be trapped by the car leaning against the door.
@atlassaferooms42314 жыл бұрын
That's a great point! Our shelters are modular so if something is blocking the door you can unbolt any panel and get out that way.

@christiniakollar83973 жыл бұрын
It’s a metal room so your probably fine
@Murasame3 жыл бұрын
Probably would have to leave since it has air vents which smoke would go in and would get hot if fire was all around you there'd also be little oxygen.

Passed standards at Texas Tech and is tested. What product are you selling that can compete.
@luisromanlegionaire4 жыл бұрын
@John Smith I will trust a ,major University like Texas Tech which does testing and shows its results before I trust some Smith dude telling me he thinks something is junk without showing some links to back up his statements. Not only that but these types of shelters have appeared on the news as the only thing standing after a tornado went throught.
@luisromanlegionaire4 жыл бұрын
@John Smith Texas Tech University says your opinion is junk lol. It has wrenches with which you can undo the nuts holding the panels of the structure to the frame and these come inwards. Also when a tornado blows through the only thing standing will be this thing, not much debris around. But even in the remote case you cant open door all the way see the above about the panels. You really must be one of those below ground dudes that is being put out of business
@luisromanlegionaire4 жыл бұрын
@John Smith Whatever dude these things have undergone testing by a major university and I am supposed to listen to your opinion when you have not tested anything. Just drop it you are making yourself look bad on here.

I just disassembled one of these. Those panels and columns are extremely heavy. I think it is 1/4" thick steel. These guys are stronger than they look on this video. There is a reason they are covered in sweat. It is a freaking bank vault and pretty much overkill secure. That door is super, super heavy and then some. I am 6'4, 315 LBS and could barely inch the door it across the floor with another grown man. Moving the door was extremely precarious. Take it from someone who's wrestled with one of these things.
@patrickeh6966 жыл бұрын
NEVER have an outward opening door inside a house. You will be trapped if the house collapses. derp
@paulajohnson10965 жыл бұрын
Isn't that the point of the wrenches? If you become trapped, you can remove a panel and climb out.

rextuner03 FEMA, while imperfect due to being run by imperfect humans, is a lot better than the libertarian nightmare of having no help in an emergency. Besides, I blame that more on the inept Bush Administration than FEMA itself. And a semi-botched response doesn't negate their testing standards.
@lgmmrm2 жыл бұрын
@@MrTangent don’t blame it on the Bush Admin or FEMA. Blame it on the Governor and mayor at the time. They failed to enforce or provide adequate assistance to the evacuations. They had several hundred school buses that went unused because they didn’t have AC. I’d rather be hot that dead, personally.
@MrTangent2 жыл бұрын
@@lgmmrm The blame may lay somewhat on the mayor/governor, but Bush hired a guy whose, besides practicing law, sole experience was being an assistant to a mayor in a small town in Oklahoma. His qualifications were WHOLLY inadequate to run the largest rescue/preparedness administration in the United States, let alone the world. But he was a crony of Bush. He failed miserably at his job, as was testament to the whole horrible federal response in Katrina and ultimately resigned in disgrace as a result. Heck of a job, indeed.

these guys are a joke there side walls are just flat pieces of metal no steel tubing nothing
@wldktz110 жыл бұрын
The panels are 2 foot sections bolted together. Each panel has flanges on all four sides with adds strength. The flanges act as ribbing and can be very strong. It's 7 gauge steel. From what I have researched 12 gauge has never been penetrated by this test.
