I have to respectfully disagree with your assessment of the P51. I would say it’s the First, most sexiest plane. Followed by the F15 and then it’s a role of the dice. There are sooooo many sexy planes out there. But I’d put those two in the lead in that order.😂

It sounds like what your talking about is called slow flight. This is one of the skills you have to practice at when your getting your Private Pilots License and something you practice when your learning Any new aircraft. What you try to do is get the plane as close to its stall speed as you can and maintain controlled flight without stalling the aircraft. You should do this with and without flaps since flying with the flaps will allow you to get slower but it also adds drag and you need more power etc.. Anyway, find the stall speed of the aircraft and practice this skill. You will find it Will help you get much better at flying the aircraft. Check out “Slow Flight” and I’m sure you can find some tutorials to help you understand it. Hope that helps…

I just got DCS and started with the F14 module. I also acknowledge that this is a very difficult aircraft to fly. I tried A@A refueling tonight. I feel like as soon as I get in the groove behind the plane it feels like the tanker slows way down. Oh well try again tomorrow.

Two observations, if I may: It seems to me the plane is not trimmed perfectly. If you let go of the stick, does the tomcat continue straight and level? It looks like the tomcat likes to sink a little in the second part. You over compensate, pio results. Second observation: your throttle movements are incomplete in that you do not seem to return the throttle to baseline (that is, the point where you match the tankers speed precisely). I’m guessing this is because you do not seem to make note of where your throttle is at when cruising at the right speed. Instead it seems you move the throttle forward to accelerate, and then leave it where it is until you think you are in the right spot. Which is way to late, then you retract the throttle fall behind and so on. Maybe first form up with the tankers right wing, get the speed right and trim until you can let go of the stick for something like five seconds. Also try to establish a physical baseline for your throttle setting on your HOTAS while forming up. Then whenever you want to move forward or back go: throttle advance (or retract) - wait 3-5 seconds, return to baseline. This at first seems to be painfully slow. But slow and steady in the end will get you there faster and safer than overshooting three times. Have you seen reflecteds video on refueling the f-14? It’s great! Here is a link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hqmVoI2jgKylqJYsi=sBAAkzqEWefq4Hq2 One last thought: it’s great you are putting this video out, it shows the trouble everyone at first goes through and it takes some courage to admit one’s weaknesses. Keep trying you will get there eventually! P.S. I really hope you were looking for advise, otherwise please disregard the wise guy explaining when not asked. ;)

@snick500 9 ай бұрын
I have never said I was the best pilot and always welcome advise. I do need to work on trimming for sure. I will get it set then forget to retrim. I am still working out getting the feel of the right speed. I am better than I was 2 weeks ago, and hopefully better in 2 weeks time. I just have to "get good".
