hello, i want to ask. maybe this is stupid question. did u use tape mod?. what does it mean 'all included foam"? i want to mod my keyboard & I want my keyboard's sound like yours. and im interested to buy HMX Eva. My Keyboard is Keychrone Q1 Max

hi, no worries! i didn't use tape mod on this, i removed it cause i thought it sounded better. and what i meant by all included foam was just all the foam that comes in the keyboard stock. i didn't add or remove any of it. i'm not sure what the EVA switches would sound like in a Q1 Max as i've never messed with one of those before but the switches should sound really good regardless.

i didn't try it out but most if not all HMX switches sound really good with just factory lube.

all the foam is the stuff that comes in the keyboard stock. then i added 3 layers of tape to the back of the PCB and some polyfill.

I got some ice king tactiles and they sound very metallic and feel mushy with a little spring grind.

i didnt think they felt mushy but very heavy. and yeah even after lubing them, you can hear the ping in this video even though my mic is usually bad at picking those sounds up.

probably 70% keyboard, 20% switches, 10% keycaps. both these switches and the ktt matcha have a lower pitched especially when lubed but the keyboard creates very foamy sounds. i mention the keycaps as well because PBT keycaps tend to make everything sound a bit deeper as well.

i think the v1s had a little bit of a plastic sound to them irl even after lubing. not super noticeable and my mic didn't pick it up. the EVA switches actually sound this good or better irl it's crazy and they are only factory lubed.
